We've barely heard anything or enough to come to that conclusion especially after the failure that was Anthem which revealed just how bad in shape the studio was overall. There's nothing to even be remotely excited about over this.
If you haven't opened up your joycons before then you should know that there's absolutely nothing in them that warrants an 80 dollar price tag. The overall story was oddly paced, so some things just needed to be better fleshed out. Personally I liked him, he was pissed at the world. He lost his wife, he lost a friend that became insane and formed a crew of religious crazy people, it's the end of the world and everything good going for him was shattered. It's been 4 years, and no substantial update for the Switch. It's safe to to assume that the Switch won't be getting in-console text/party chat or an update to the laggy store. If anything they'll bring those changes to their next handheld. I just hope that whatever they bring out next is backwards compatible with Switch games and it's network is the same. You can enjoy something and still be critical of it. Being critical is how things are improved.
You know in a way it's kind of a blessing that Valve hasn't worked on sequels. Look at the way things are right now. Sequels rarely have actual substantial improvements or evolution of gameplay. They're basically more of the same but prettier and with better animations and that seems to distract us in the moment until later you realize that you're basically playing the same game.

I have my doubts. Konami had SONY backing them up when Kojima and del Toro were behind the project and Bloober hasn't really proven themselves to be working on a game which ALL eyes will be on if they announce a new entry.
They could do that without purchasing them though. I don't know why people are obsessed with devs being aquired by console manufacturers. They have a good and long standing relationship, these guys will continue to remake and maybe even make something completely original for PS5 for years to come.
People just want their favorite company to snag up some devs since the other guy is doing it, and it's really not that big of a deal.
Can't wait for when AdBlock mods are made for video games. Years back SKATE 2 had real advertising on in-game ad boards and I didn't mind it, but I do now.
