As long as the game can be played with a regular controller and the Kinect features enabled for those who want to use them then who cares.
99.9% of those who play Halo, will play it without Kinect. It would be very dumb of M$ to try a ram Kinect down the throats of Halo gamers. There are things Kinect does well, right now, FPS isn't one of them.

I'm not a big believer in pre-orders but trend watchers live by them. Gears will get it's sales and it should...not many games offering the value that games like Gears or Halo offer.
