rest assured COD and BF have the same campaign lengths (3-5hrs) advertised by their developer as 6-7...its not a big deal considering how the fps in this particular genre greatly rely on shock and awe, high production values and a narrative that doesn't stop to develop an already familiar world-there is no need for prolonging a campaign that has these elements.
Wouldn't say the beta is disappointing, bugs, glitches even the graphics are to be to some degree expected. However, I can see BF3 won't be competing with COD, especially when it comes to holding people's interests. MW3 is much more streamlined, much better paced, and has particular incentives that BF3 lacks-goes both ways, but one side outweighs the other.

Modern Warfare 3 is actually a testament to the dominance of the console era.
one very strong argument for the consoles, a minus for the PC...
dead island sales aren't quite the feat, its just R3 failed miserably (not to impede on the games quality considering its the best one in the series and a way better game than dead island) in comparison which highlights dead island as a successful new game, like borderlands during the modern warfare 2 launch (in which case modern warfare 2 did its job and borderlands great sales weren't given much emphasis next to something thats selling 4 mil copies in hours time).
honestly, lost odyssey is one the worst games i ever played, starts of slow and slows down even more, never really picking up with regards to story. took me 40+ hours to finish. hate the game with passion.
i find camping is just a very well disguised excuse for the guy who had no intention of getting killed and needs to justify their untimely demise to their immediate party, clan members or even themselves for fear their reputation, ego or prestige might come to harm. in other words a sore loser, i hate em more than the concept of camping.
this mobile gaming beating out handheld gaming seems ridiculously exaggerated, im not even sure such a rivalry exists.
fifa was pretty good last gen too, mass effect should replace fifa
honestly, ppl who complain about camping are way more annoying than those that camp.

why is CODs success "annoying" or "silly"?
I'm not sure you fully appreciate the feeling of dishing out $60 of hard earned money and considering the demographic that play games-we aint the richest or stable when it comes to our incomes.
