This is the attitude we need. The criticism for this game turned into a blind hatred which was unfair from the beginning. The developers took a different direction, yes a flippin U-turn if need be, but they poured their heart into this game believe or not. Capcom and Ninja Theory consists of people, people just like us, not some executives and software engineers that are blinded by greed and looking to piss of people. They are creative people who take risks and try to innovate as much as poss...
That is because Battlefield is specifically designed to create the precise effect of a...well...a battlefield. COD on the other hand goes for the 'one man army' effect where every single gameplay mechanic is structured towards a much faster pace and the game coming down to body bags.
ARMA 2 is another battlefield esque game, then there is Planetside 2 which is 10x the size of battlefield with thousands of players in one game, highly recommended. Yet enjoying all thes...
4 of them PS3 exclusives. 360 will have a dry year I guess.
That was beautifully made, captured the game's feel. My personal GOTY is Dishonored.
Actually, the heavenly sword boss battle is often cited in these kinds of lists. Although the game itself was pretty solid, that particular boss battle however stands as one of the best boss battles from a technical and aesthetic point of view in recent memory.
I don't know what qualifies a CPU for you, but it involves a processor, RAM, a case, a power supply, a GPU, a HDD or SDD among other things. Are you seriously going to tell me $80 CPU with will run the likes of Assassin's Creed 3, Gears of War 3, Halo 4? Are you mentally challenged my friend? As for your $200 graphics card, I suggest you upgrade cause although its a tier 1 graphics card and can run most games very well, however, when benchmarked it has hard time running Metro 2033 on ...
$300 CPU will get you the lowest settings and an average fps rate of 15-20. Thats besides all the overheating and crashes you'll encounter. Try again please.
I think there is room for a reboot, something along the lines of Metroid Prime gameplay mechanics with the setting/atmoshphere of TRON and the light nature of Ratchet and Clank or JAK.
Sounds ridiculously fun. Also waiting on the MLG playlist.
That is a very restricted criteria for GOTY. Customization and technical diversity are awesome things to have in a game but linearity in both story and gameplay can also be crafted just as well to qualify a game for GOTY. Some great examples are God of War, Portal, Bioshock, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Gears, Halo, Call of Duty (at least Modern Warfare 1), Starcraft etc.
Agreed, most of the winners are justified and the trailers are awesome. But the presentation and the overall feel of the show its frankly condescending and highly absurd. I wish they take out all the irrelevant celebrity appearances and cringe worthy puns. The gaming industry is dignified entertainment industry and not the 12 year old wet dream that the producers of the show make it out to be.
I think the publishers had a point, although timesplitters remains one one of the best multiplayer splitscreen experiences last gen, this developer had a disastrous start to the current gen by putting out Haze. So i can understand the skepticism of a publisher that is about to invest a couple million in a project.

Let me know if you are not in the US, I'll try to accommodate you elsewhere.
Don't understand what you are implying, the author is simply saying New DmC > DMC4 or New DMC maybe DMC3 caliber, which by the looks of things and considering the author has actually played some parts of the game, it maybe a fair assessment.
Agreed, this is precisely what I'd like to see as well. These kinds of games are non existent on the consoles and although there are some that exist on the PC, they lack the budget or production values that is required of something so ambitious in scale and detail.
I recall Bungie working on something in the MMO/console/scifi universe but I don't think much details have been given out.
BS, Uncharted 2 isn't by any means known for its story; in fact the plot of U2 was very generic, full of cliches that simply held together well for a video game. Where the game excelled was presenting that story in a cinematic format which rivaled a hollywood movie (i mean besides its awesome scripted events).
In contrast, when it comes to story, Black Ops 2 blows it out of the water, afterall the story is penned by the co-writer of the Dark Knight Trilogy. COD has always...
Your sentiment is trash, thus the overwhelming disagrees.
Actually none of these points are really valid. COD on the MLG circuit has worked relatively well in the past. The console to which to play it on is based on the sponsers, MS in conjunction with Bungie has sponsored Halo in the past, while Black Ops 1 has been played on the PS3 courtesy of Sony.
As for the multiple screens, all ten screens are shown on the mainstage to the audience, so no issue there either. Pro gaming is pretty big on COD, just take a look at all the teams ...
There is no console game in the market today that sells like COD every year and manages to maintain such a consistently active community. Halo is huge and may share a similar fanbase, but its an exclusivity limits it on top of the fact the COD formula and the reason it has no major competitors is it manages to hold the interest of players nearly all year round.
"Easy and mindless" those words get thrown around much too often. Especially by those that perceive themselves as fans because they've played the "originals" which automatically provides them with a false sense of proficiency in a game that has always been about reconciling style and combat rather than difficulty and combat.
Simple fact is the game is getting acclaim across the board, it holds 85 aggregate score based on 28 reviews from all kinds of p...
