I love how the article tries to sound like they know what they are talking about. Yet they only predicted 6-8 million! it passed that after 4 months! Then they tried down playing it saying it passed 10 million in less than 9 months... Try 13 million. Give credit where it is do. You was wrong They see back order numbers. Know whats coming out. Yeah no wonder they were keeping quiet before launch. Not telling specs or if it was handheld or console. For six months ALL I HEARD was people complaining about Nintendo being stupid for not announcing anything until right before launch. For being arrogant.

Dark Cloud is not a system seller. I think they are really going to be behind SWITCH. Because if your taking 60% in your first year. And companies know that your sales jump higher each year after launch. Then they know they had better get the games that have for the Japanese audience onto the SWITCH FAST! They need to snatch up the JRPG fans faster than the competition.

I think people disagreed because the console will just be starting it's 3rd month in 2019, Plus Nintendo did not replace the dead wii u until after five years. Why would they replace a super successful one at the start of the third year? Plus I want to see something beyond the x2 or x3 when it's time.

F^ck Bethesda. If they want to pick up the EA Greed flag while pretending they need to be greedy to stay in business. Then I will not buy their game. There are PLENTY of AAA titles that Sony, Nintendo, and MANY other companies make. I can't keep up with the amount of AAA titles. Why would action offer MORE potential? When it is action it has a limit of how many button combinations you have. When you have a menu system you have UNLIMITED potential. Why do you say action based offers more potential than turn based for engaging game play? I think you just prefer action. No need to say justify it.

But to answer your question Square reveal that it takes twice as long on average to make a turn based game. Plus it takes more people. Which means more than twice as much development payroll.
But like you said LEAVE it turn based! Dragon quest warriors (action rpg) sell way less than Dragon Quest (turn based rpg mainline rpg).

What matters is who owns the trademark or the IP. If Sony does own it then I would think they would not pay for development and then not have at least exclusive mandate in it.
