Your a tough one.....But I'd LOVE to have compatibility PS4 on the PS VITA2! It should not be a requirement. I mean SWITCH is not backwards compatible with Wii U games. And Nintendo is king of backward systems.
Now PS5 should upscale and be backwards compatible to PS4 games. Especially if it has a close enough architecture.

Sony does have the option of releasing a PS5 and a PS5 Mobil (that scales down the games with an API so the devs dont have to).

Sony's problem was Nintendo had all those 1st parties built up, and all the JRPGs (Japan is a Mobil first games country) all was concentrated on the handheld market. Sony could not compete on those exclusives and it takes 5-6 years to make top notch turn based jrpgs. I think Sony will now try both markets again.

With the exception of your last statement you have some points people cant deny . Plus people are not realizing when they see these chart comparisons. SWITCH launched during the slowest part of the year for console and game sales. This month and next will be their first major holiday season sales. Expect that arrow to climb even sharper upwardly.

Except you don't have content laying around that could be wasted. They did this on purpose no did waste scenarios ever happens. Content takes lots of man hours to make. Plus you don't have to put a hook into software. That takes money to do. It was concerted and on purpose.

Even though I'd like for Horizon to have won (At least it should have been BEST NEW IP for heavens sake). I think any other year Horizon would have won GAME OF THE YEAR easily.
I feel no shame about it losing to Zelda breath of the wild AVERAGE rating over 97% and proclaimed the best game ever by many. Or to Mario also a AVERAGE rating over 97%. I bet Horiday TWO will win game of the year when it comes out.
