This issue affects game quality. The core problem can be seen with Bungie (original halos) and Rare. Microsoft trys to micro manage creativity, both bought by Microsoft at one time. Games are more creative than operating systems. Not on the technical side but on the game side.

No it is not realistic, I hear that all the time when people watch me play a turn based JRPG, ....It's a videogame.
Example someone shots a large lava rock at a girl in her pretty flowered lace dress with a teddy bear. And she does not even get dirty or burned and then she almost is dancing as she cast's her spell and she flys and her personal robot transforms into a giant hammer and smashes his head. It's a game big deal!

Average the Xbox on S $250, and the Xbox one X $500 cost out, and it looks like the analyst has the console sold of each. So they should have enough information to figure out that there will be enough consoles of the SWITCH to surpass the xbox one family they are not mathematically stupid.

SWITCH isn't the first console that allows digital. If anything it has restricted storage remember how you complained of it? This restricted storage means you CANT swear off physical unless you only buy 10 games.
If SWITCH only lost to PS4 by 385,000 and it was not out in January or February of last year. Then common sense will tell you it will be Xbox one. And is not a niche in only Japan! It did not beat PS4 in Japan so it had to win somewhere else to be in second place world wide behind the mighty PS4.
They are giving you an incentive to buy the game within a year of release. Then they are making sure you claim your points before it is too late.
What you said sounds reasonable but it is not when you factor in that you are getting NOTHING from the other two console makers for buying it within a year of release.
I want the same thing to. For them to not expire EVER. But at least Nintendo give you points. Since Nintendo started this, maybe the other two will jump in, and give you points that do not expire. Then Nintendo will have to up their game and do the same.
