The kinect model...a proven success? Where? When? How? LOL!
And even the best noice canceling tech still can't filter out a 5.1 or 7.1 setup blasting in the room. You're gonna have to be loud or reach for the amp remote and turn down whatever you're doing.
And who says the controller needs to be on the entire time? It could remain off until you hit a voice prompt button.
I don't think the general public needs an expensive peri...
I'll continue to post about it, because the only way to stop a gimmick is to give feedback to the company from which it originated, as well as speaking with your wallet.
I really don't give a single shite about Kinect. Give me a precise controller with sticks and buttons and I'm good.
Everything you need to do with a console should be able to be done directly from the controller, not having to use multiple, user-configured, expensive peripherals.
If you want to be able to issue voice commands to your console, then build a mic into your controller right next to a button meant to initiate voice commands.
I would only read Gerstmann's reviews over at Giantbomb then. His honesty got him fired from Gamespot.
He did it for the lulz
Meh. GT5 still has that beat. That GTR needs more polygons.
Check out this GT5 model:

Oh, and:
Dirt 2
Dirt 3
Batman Arkham City
Red Faction
Super Meat Boy
Many, many others...

Console exclusives are nice, but there's too few to justify only owning consoles. Definitely need a gaming rig to have the better experience when it comes to multiplats. Plus, it's not nearly as expensive as many would like to claim.
Honestly, there's a certain magical feeling that is missing from modern console gaming.
With the growth of the industry and giant publishers ruling our gaming world, it seems that in most places you look, the soul of our beloved hobby has matured but in a sort of unsettling way.
There was something fundamentally different and more wondrous about playing some super smash bros back on N64, or Kirby on my grey gameboy fat. It was more fulfilling.

I can't believe a single person agrees with you, strauser360, because you obviously don't have any idea at all what you're talking about.
What a wonderful response, lol.
I really appreciate Sony for letting this great actor become an icon for their current gen system. He's a lot of fun.
Cool! I can haz?
I'll give you three reasons it won't fail:
1) Marketing
2) Marketing
3) Marketing
Once the public sees a TV ad for a 100 dollar console that plays all their android favorites and is an open-door invite for indie developers, and comes with an awesome controller, people will eat this up.
The reason this will sell well is it's inexpensive and will support games already in existence (Android) and opens up doors for mas...
I, for one, think this is an absolutely fantastic opportunity for indie devs and low-budget gamers to have some fun. I hope Ouya goes far. The video game industry is suffering at the hands of big publishers grabbing for everyone's money. This is a much-needed refresher. I'll be investing a small amount in this, not that they need it at this point! lol!
At least think of a better name than "Adventurer"...come ON
@ Sony360
Funny thing is...the Wii is technically barely ahead of the original Xbox.

srsly.
Obvious is obvious
I love these sort of tech articles. Gives you an appreciation of what's going on behind the scenes while running through those epic set pieces.
@ infamous-butcher
I've found that not many publications (at least online, maybe not print) don't value or even think of having a copy editor on staff. It's quite a shame, to be honest.
It's been SIX YEARS, there is NO WAY the PS3 should be "hard" or "the hardest" to dev for. Sony has incredible dev support now, and the dev kits have awesome tech and rendering techniques built in.
I cannot believe that this dev hasn't gotten the memo that all the other worthy devs out there did a couple years ago when dev'ing for the PS3 became much, much easier and far less time consuming.
Stupid.
I still ha...
