Listen kid. This isn't just an indie game, but it's a joint project between Sony Japan Studio and Q-Games.
Q-Games itself founded by the talented Dylan Cuthbert in 2001 and since then they involved with Sony (Pixel Junk series) and Nintendo (Star Fox). They are not just some no name indie devs. So of course this game got some hype because it looks very interesting and Q-Games already had some name behind them.

Or Ninja Gaiden with Kasumi and Ayane as main character. I love to see both of them got their story outside DoA. Ayane already got it in NG 1-3 though, but she only count as supporting character.
I also enjoyed Cold Fear but for early chapter. The storm really gave some uncertainty atmosphere to players. There also no maps that forced us to memorize all route we have been through.
But after that the story & gameplay gone downhill because it trying so hard to be RE and sadly it failed, for me anyway.
1. Dead Space 1 is worth a buy.
2. Big YES. Both games still scary for today standard. I suggest to pick them up if you really love pure survival horror games.
I think there's japan dub (with english dub + sub) in japan / asian version. Don't know about US/EU ver though...

Seriously, replace Cold Fear (i finished it years ago and it's not good), Dead Island, and Dead Space 2 with Siren, Clock Tower 3, and The Thing.
Also, i think Onimusha 1, Rule of Rose, Kuon, and Parasite Eve deserved a spot in that list.

No one force you to play it again. This remake / reboot are for new fans and old fans who wants to feel nostalgic again.
And FYI, The remake situation isn't exclusive to this gen. It already exist more than 15-20 years ago. That's why it's funny to see people complaining "this is the trouble with this gen" like they never experience console before PS4, X1, and WiiU.

I don't give a damn if some childlish fanboys or crappy journalist wants new IP to fail. It just a waste of time thinking about that. Just ignore them and enjoy your game.
