My digital experience with PSN on PS4 has been very mixed. No issues with Second Son but both MLB The Show and Transistor gave me problems to get downloaded and installed. Seems like they are going backwards.
RE4 was a very influential game as far as third person cameras go, but Gears was in development long before it came out. Also they are different genres and all, so there is that :|
30fps makes for a very cinematic look "almost all movies are 24fps". However from a gameplay perspective it is not good, humans see at a rate right around 60 fps so reacting and controlling the player is hanging on this factor.
On Rails games can definitely try to justify 30fps, but personally on the pc I will keep dropping effects and resolution until I hit at least 60 for a good gameplay experience. I want to feel like I am controlling the game, not watching it.
Damn, they are really going all in on copying Gears of War :D. At least they picked something good to copy. Hopefully it will be as fun as Gears is.
Yeah, looking like a very disappointing year for gaming.
Well, it is what it is. Hopefully it will be good when it is finished.
Awesome game! The level with the rolling cage is possible my favorite platforming physics level of all time. Brilliant gameplay.
Super Time Force music is especially awesome right now! As for non 8bit music, hard to beat the Halo theme.
The issue with your logic is that I found Bastion to be boring as well and it was an Xbox Exclusive for a long time. Just not a fan of their repetitive gameplay and narrative style. The narration is cool for 15 minutes, then it just starts to grate on the nerves. At least for me. And the gameplay is pretty wonky, she moves so slow until you get the dart power but the issue is using that power feels so abrupt and without proper control. Especially since the battle zones are so small.

Nice, wish I had a Rift to try it. My favorite book of all time.
Very curious to see what it is. I wouldn't mind them making a Kart Racer based on the Rare Characters. Joyride's biggest issue was that it was kind of generic, everything was well done just not very inspired.
My electric bill is virtually unchanged since jumping to next generation. Only time my electric bill really jumps is on hot month when the AC is run.
The standby features of X1/PS4 definitely use more power this gen, but it was so tiny to begin with, that it is still not going to affect your overall consumption very much.
Let's just hope Watch Dogs is a better game than Second Son.
I don't think it will ever die as long as people have friends and family, but online multiplayer is definitely more convenient.
As long as you like being bored it might be fun :D. Sort of kidding, but I did find it terribly boring. I only made it two hours into the game though, so maybe it gets better. Those first two hours were so repetitive though. Basically it was a lot like Bastion which I also was not a big fan of. Beautiful game though.
Not the case actually, the PS4 has SATAII internally which is slower than USB3. Hopefully they will both release new SKU's with SATAIII
Pretty crazy that both X1 and PS4 used SATAII.. Biggest bottleneck in both systems. At least USB3 offers a way around it.
I love Tell Tale games, so I am actually kind of excited about this!
I am guessing you never played Bastion haha.. Basically the same exact model except with an added turn based combat system. Personally not a big fan of the narrative style, got pretty boring for me once I realized it was going to be Bastion all over again. Visual and Audio are hyper stylized and very cool, but overall not a game I enjoyed playing. I would give it a 6/10. Nice production values, but repetitive narrative and gameplay gets old really fast. Also the movement in the game was very ...
My issue with Transistor was not availability, but rather it failed the first 3 times I tried to download it which was very annoying.
