I've already had it pre-ordered via STEAM, and I'm not really worried, the first Mafia had similar reviews and it was just great (I only tried the PC version).
I wasn't disappointed with the demo either :)
I used to play HALO great game and I don't see Bungie or whoever is developing it to change the structure since the game itself was well done. On the other hand I never liked the new COD gameplay; it seems to strip down the fundamentals of realism and arcade in gaming to build it's own sub-genre, then again I personally find this gameplay to be broken. As for GT5, I've had my copy ordered as soon as the special edition was available and it's the sole reason why I got a PS3. <...
I don't think Valve were worried, they just saw through that developing for the PS3 would be beneficial for both platforms, as in: the PS3 and STEAM.
They saw it be a great way to grow financially by adding steam on the PSN, this means that if SONY will keep their promise (re: the 10 year lifetime of the console - in which I have no doubt) they could push digital distribution on consoles too.
a 3d game in a 3rd person perspective?
I'll reserve final judgement until I play it, but the reviewer sounds like he/she utterly missed the point of the game. One should also note that EG gave the first Mafia the same exact score.
Mafia I, was broken in ways that I couldn't even describe, it never tried to be a GTA clone and it was still an unbelievable experience - the story alone was worth the buy.
I'd hate that, mostly because campaigns are probably the only thing I look forward to in a game.
I had a feeling that the initial level would consist of a WWII level.
DRM on consoles? sounds like it
all you care about is who will win GOTY, and not that game that really deserves it
don't get me wrong it's a very good game and it deserves GOTY, but you're missing a lot if you are just interested in big budget games which rank up 8/10+
Mark Webber's incident? thought he was a goner when I saw the crash.
I'm very disappointed by you guys...
GOTY? Game Awards? are you serious? those things are just one huge advertising manoeuvres, even 90% of the " exclusive news" and "gameplay footage leaks" you get nowadays are usually just a ploy by the publisher
I don't understand console gamers, were these guys hired by sony, micrsoft or nintendo? because they sound like they want to sell me their favourite console
I have a PS3 (which I hardly use), come November I might switch it on (GT5 - the only reason I got the PS3 to begin with). Played most of the PS3 exclusives and I just didn't like them UC2 is good but it gets tedious after you beat the single player and I really don't see any replay value, Killzone 2... what a...
I think you only have one bubble just because when people read your comment they loose a braincell for each word.
indeed :P
In 2005 (I was one of the junior photographers covering the american friendly-fire on the italian intelligence officer, nicola calipari) those times where stressful, one had to consider his every move. Hence why I understand the tension soldiers had in 2007 (link in the article).
Then again them begging to shoot was immoral and unethical.
I wouldn't be surprised if companies would pull this stunt - Ubisoft just continued with their DRM even though it was highly criticized and not everyone has a stable flowing connection.
apart from that, one huge problem with consoles is, that they're much harder to hack and modify than the PC
if it really as easy, we'll soon see DRMs for console games too
I'll soon be adding Call of the Pripyat to my library :D
I'd get it on the PC first
if you prefer console though, depends which controller you like best :P
they already lost in the mobile industry; I see the mobile industry divided into four sections
* iPhone
* google OS (open-source and thus proven to be the better out of all 4)
* other OSs (which are slowly dying out)
* people who don't really give a shit about their phone
I don't see Microsoft in any of these sections, the windows phone was a flop, even though it's industrial design was really good and the GUI was something out of t...
