This looks more like a company pep rally than an advertisement. I work for a company that's as big as MS and they do this kind of stuff all the time. So in some ways it's not the consumer who is getting smoke blown up the ass it's the employees.

I had friends talking last night about how they would like to see Halo CE MP playable over XBL. So apparently there is a market for this.

They had something a few years back that was like showing your AAA card at select restaurants and shops to get discounts. I think it was called the Diamond card.
Now as far as giving MS points, they did run a Rewards beta the first half of this year. Like Discover card you get points back based on you years of membership up to 5% for things you bought on live including membership renewals. Don't know when or even if they are going to launch this.

If I can watch a couple of out of region collage football games that I normally go to a sports bar to see, I'll save more than 60 bucks!

There has been a lot of chest beating over the last month. It reminds me of animals running for the hills before a big storm!

The storm that is coming is the next generation of consoles. Or should I say the new average mans PC! The current consoles are starting to resemble PC's and all the next gen will need is more storage and ram, email, browser, and word processing and you have what the average guy needs. And like it or not the average man rules the market place so...

Create probably started being made in late 2007 or early 2008 and was inspired by the Far Cry map making community that kept that game alive because of the map editor. There is an article somewhere around here from jan or feb 2008 where the head of Ubi hints about Create.

LBP may have caused a redirection with Create, it sure took them long enough to make it!

From the article: "the Kinect sensor bar scans and monitors 1 million points on the body"

If it can scan the body and has a camera for taking a pic, you just need software to create a character from your own likeness. Play with a character that looks like you! No other motion controls or camera can do this and makes Kinect more than just a controller. I expect to see Ubisoft do this first either with the upcoming Ghost Recon or the next Rainbow Six.

Not that the moms reaction was wrong, but this shows why MS has been hesitant to put a web browser on the 360. This situation could have been a web link sent instead of a pic. Parents calling the police and the news stations when they find their kids surfing for porn crying "but I didn't know the Xbox surfed the web" and the kid claiming "some gamer sent me the link, I didn't know it was porn".

OK, but you don't have to shout!!

Boxing is a cool game to some. No controller can emulate that better than Kinect and your own hands! I'd love to take on some of these mouthy kids who think they are hot sh*t because they can mash buttons. $150 not sounding high at all if I could do that!!

After seeing a Madcatz wireless flight stick going for $99, Kinect doesn't seen too high. I still need to see better games or uses to get me interested though.

Far Cry 2 MP was a huge disappointment. The map editor was great but the game play sucked. Most of my friends traded the game in after 6 months. And all these guys were hardcore FC players/map makers on Instincts and Predator. These guys aren't just disappointed in the game they are pissed at Ubi for ruining the series.

The FC2 campaign was good though if your like me and don't mind just driving around an open world and screwing around as you go.

Sale figures are misleading. Gaming has become a social experience and some of the top games like COD, Halo, And GTA sell many copies to people who just want to be where their friends are. There is a difference between being popular and being good!

So you think people are tools because they except that new technology isn't perfect and that high failure rates are the price to be paid for being early adopters of the latest tech? You didn't own a PC in the early 90's did you?

I won't deny the early 360's were turkeys, but I've had more problems with PC's!!

RROD is 50-60% MS fault and the rest is the users!!! Besides stupid placement in entertainment centers or on a carpeted...

I have to ask this because I honestly don't know, but can you trade in PC games? I trade console games I don't fell like keeping in and reduce the price of other games I buy. So his figures for games is going to differ for everyone.

Also, some of us do buy controllers and wireless receivers and such to use with PC games.

There isn't a cost yet for motion control on the PC, but there is someone working on it.

MS has been saying that they want Kinect to be an impulse buy. But that doesn't mean that they will give it away at a low price.

The Live Vision cam was an impulse buy for some at $79 for the deluxe pack due to a one year XBL card ($50), a mic ($20), 250 MS points ($2.50). So the camera came out to be about $8.

So maybe Kinect will come with an XBL card, some MS points, Maybe 1 or more months Netflix membership. Maybe a membership to the rumored Hulu p...

The name Kinect seems to be working. People I work with who don't game already know what it is.
I think MS may be using the name Kinect to tie in with their Kin phones.

Call me when a couple of thousand of these Youtube videos of the 360-S not working have been made then I might be concerned there is a problem. If I didn't buy stuff that someone else complained about, I'd own nothing!!

Everything has an out of the box failure rate. Assembly lines screw up, warehouse people drop shit, and stupid shoppers rattle stuff.

It's too early to say if the slim is made well or not!

"pack-in details"

Is $150 too much if they pack-in a one year XBL subscription card? That's $50 your going to put out anyway!

The vision cam package was $79 and came with one year XBL and a mic, so the cam was $9.

Chances are very high that one year XBL card will be included. Maybe 2 years, or some MS points? Plus some games.
