For a console manufacture to win E3, wouldn't they need to show something that will generate new sales of their hardware? It's sort of late in this generation for core gamers to go buy the other console from what the have.
So MS may have won E3 with that stupid Nike game. If fitness fanatics get interested, the 360 could sell quite a few units. A couple of bills for another exercise tool is nothing to some people. Look at all that crap they buy of the tube!
Isn't this basically what Tivo does. Charging a small price up front with a service contract instead of having people pay for the hardware completely at the start. Yes it's like rent to own and you have to pay more, but more people can jump in on the tech. It worked for Tivo!
I actually expected to see this business model used on the next gen consoles. But with a twist. You could get the console with service contract from your cable company. Game system, interne...
You got it backwards. id Software was bought by Bethesda parent company, ZeniMax. Carmack has nothing to say about what is done with Skyrim.
Did any one actually read the article? The writer assumes that XBL is raising in price due to one line written in some MS employes LinkedIn profile.
"• Developed strategy to further monetize Xbox LIVE subscriber base that will be implemented for holiday 2012"
Here is how Investopedia explains "monetize"
Investopedia explains 'Monetize'
For example, you'll often hear Internet marketers talk about "...
MS has all ready embraced limited time F2P. It's been standard on Arcade games from day one. And Halo and Gears have had betas, so F2P has been done in that sense.
So what's going to happen to Indie games if points are discontinued? I don't see a lot of people whipping out the credit card for $1.
It's going to be interesting to see how Indie games and avatar sales are affected if points are eliminated. I think people will be less inclined to whip out the credit card for one dollar purchases.
I don't know why you guys cry so much over left over points. I've gotten enough free points over the years from rebates, XBL Rewards, and Bing rewards to more than make up having a couple of dollars setting around in points. Getting rid of points is going to mean sp...
If people are whining now, what are they going to do if other game developers adopt Bethesda's selectable view function? Early reports on Skyrim is that the function has been greatly improved. The number of games that could be considered FPS's would increase!
So what if the next GTA or RDR could be played in 1st or 3rd view? Yes, I hear another fine wine being poured, "but we don't want our beloved classics changed". Well the developers and the publisher...
Did anyone actually read the article? Only the first line had anything to do with gaming or the 360. The rest of the article is about other tech uses for Kinect.
Kinect is simple an input device. Just like keyboards, mice, and remote controls. But it has the potential to replace all of these. This is the next best thing since sliced bread! Tossing away all the remotes and being able to control all electronics by voice and gesture controls would be great.

MS info on MMO policies for those that are curious.
http://www.microsoft.com/do...
I don't think MMO developers have given up on the 360, It's just too late in this gen to launch a new MMO. The lack of exclusives overall make me think the 720 is coming sooner than later.
Invisibility would be ok if the player movement was slower. The game doesn't need to be turned down to Ghost Recon levels but it doesn't need to be at UT level either.
If MS is so closed minded to user generated content, then why do they hold seminars for developers like this one held at Gamefest 2010. Link is a download zip file containing an audio file presentation and a power point presentation. http://www.microsoft.com/do...
Demo???? There's no freaking demo coming out!!! It's a beta test. Think about it. Most demo's are SP and come out a few days to couple of weeks before the games release. MP 2 months before launch looks more like a beta.
Why the 360 only?? That ones easy too. Wasn't it last week we had the stories of Valve complaining about having only 5 patches for the 360 and 150 for the PC with TF2? Crytek and EA got to make the most of their limited ability to pat...
But if you network your 360 and PC together, the 360 becomes a wank bank by streaming content from the PC. So the 360 truly is an entertainment system!!
Wrong!! The inclusion of the battery pack (which raises the price) has pissed off people since it was announced. Major Nelsons blog was full of complaints about this from day one of the announcement.
Also, the only thing different about this controller from previous releases is the D pad. There is a lot of false claims that other parts are improved. And over all, the new D pad isn't much of an improvement.
In the beta, points back for market place purchases was based off years of membership. 1 years got 1%. 5 or more years and you got the max of 5%. Currently this new program only list MP purchases as varies.

ME3 is a great game especially for those gamers who enjoy the journey and aren't so concerned with rushing to see how it ends. There are a lot of haters but there are more that actually loved the game with either ending. Ending a trilogy isn't easy and I think some of us were more prepared for the end to be a little blunt. ME3 is still game of the year for me!
