So with the activation, how can you share a legitimate copy of the game? It sounds like the key only allows one person to use and register the game at blizzard. If so that sux! What happened to the days when games could be borrowed?
"What I am now more interested is the Mr. EngineerSiuLung and his forthcoming product. If the Move is a simple toy that he feels is fairly easy to build and produce, he must be cooking up one of those completely new discoveries I was talking about."
The point I was trying to make is that there was no need to wait for the technology to mature. It was only an issue of cost at best, because a system with a camera undoubtedly would increase the cost significantly. With ...
There are a multitude of reasons why a company turns away a product, some of them internal like the ability to do the research needed to get the product to the market, finances or even expertise in the area.
Nintendo turned away CD-ROM technology which spurred Sony to create the Playstation is an example of this.
I guess we will only know a year from now, but I remember all the people talking about how the Wii will just be a fad. Well the fad lasted 4 years! ...
LOL... destructoid.com just hit a low in my book, when they can't see that corporate doesn't want a bunch of fans complaining about what Rare is today and how it is no longer what it used to be.
That is negative PR... duh!!! I guess, Rare should be happy they are getting negative PR then and then help mundoRare create it. Perhaps, MS should fund it as well!!!
Leaving it to developers is almost a sure fire way of getting the feature ignored. Most of the time developers are too busy to implement small nick nack features. That is why they have crunch time!!!
You want it implemented in more games, it must be required by Sony!
LOL!
"And god knows I'm SDF member #1"
... and that is why I didn't like Heavenly Sword. The production value was great, the game play was barely playable. Control response was terrible and movement felt like an old old game.
Their next game is not a buy for me unless it hits the bargain bin.
If Sony worked so hard on this and so far back, in my mind very simple technology, then why the heck didn't they release it sooner?
I mean the Wii has been on the market for four years! Their E3 PS Move showing last year looked incredibly unplanned and amateurish.
Not to mention that tracking a ball on screen and determining it's size isn't exactly rocket science and that is the only real differentiators between Wii and PS Move. What took them so ...
I don't know why I'm responding to an obvious troll, but if Sony had all that stuff back in 2001 then they are looking like an @ss for falling behind everyone and letting Nintendo introduce the Wii before Sony could.
My point was that companies make mistake and overlook opportunities and potentials all the time. The actual relationship between companies aren't important...
Even a company well intimate with selling phones like Verizon failed to see the significant impact the iPhone would have. I bet that Verizon regrets that decision now!
I'm sure you can find plenty of examples of that in history... that better suits your "exact" analogy.
What is your point? Manufacturing is outsourced, because manual labor is cheaper over there.
The majority of research and design is still done in the US and other industrialized nations.
and the majority (like 99.99%) of the time it is not!
That is why Japan uses a lot of technology that comes from the US!
Japan is great, but it ain't alone in the technology powerhouse. US arguably owns most of the most advanced technology companies in the world. At least, it wouldn't surprise me.
Yup, Verizon also turned away the iPhone! Who is laughing all the way to the bank now?
Point being, because a person (or even a company) didn't see the potential, does NOT mean it does not have potential. History has told you many times over, that several attempts might even be made before a success happens!
isn't "rechargeable battery", batteries?
The difference between the Wii and rest of the industry was that there hardly was anything for the hard core gamers. Arguably, when there was nobody bought the games.
The 360 on the other hand has a huge selection of hard core gamers already and some of the biggest games are coming in the next 9 months for the 360.
I don't see any plans for Kinect beyond that time frame either, so I don't see how that means MS "don't care about hardcore game...
Can PS Eye do full body tracking?
Yet, it sells like hot cakes four months in advance of the release so who cares...
You would think all the bad press here is suggest it is the end of the world, but frankly it is just the fanboys hating. They probably secretly buy it anyhow!
I always thought to myself that silver electronics makes them look cheap, but that looks fantastic! I can't believe I'm liking silver electronics!
I can't afford to spend $400 though....
I agree with you. People are interested in Kinect technology. Kinect has stayed on the bestseller top 100 list at amazon.com since it appeard on it and has frequently gone into the top 5. This is 3-4 months before release.

PS Move has all, but disappeared for a while now and is only 1-2 months away. With that said, I think PS Moves saving grace is the hard core gamers. Judging by this site, all the hard core gamers that hate motion control have now embraced it!
