@Tiqila: I understand that. However I think the way some people seem to calculate the value of a game is missing a lot of important factors. The value of a game isn't solely dependent on game length and price.
We have to factor in the overall quality of the time we spend with the game. That's where value becomes subjective. Not to mention that $60 for a teenage paperboy aren't as easily spend as the $60 of a grown person with a fulltime job.
An...
"If you're paying $60 for a game you'd want more than 5 hours of actual gameplay."
I honestly don't understand why games are being criticised for it's length at all. I don't think that people realise how easy it is to extend a game's length without adding any new content. I'd rather have a short game that keeps me interessted than a long game that reuses the same content over and over again just to extend the playtime. A game's length...
Good to see as I really want it to get a sequel. I like the game for what it is but it feels like it is just the beginning to an awesome franchise. There is so much potential for awesome sequels it would be a shame if it didn't get another chance. I guess it'll need a lot more than 1 million sales for Sony to greenlight a sequel though. Hope it keeps selling.
Your definition of an indie game is way off. Ori is developed under contract with a publisher and therefore it's not created independently. indie games are self published.
Also the classification "indie game" is neither determined by the game's budget nor by the dev teams size.
Don't like it? - Don't buy it.
Five years for developing a new IP from scratch for a console that wasn't finalised for the most part of the development isn't that much. They have a working engine now so they won't need five years to make a sequel.
I'd love to see a sequel.
Everyone is free to like or dislike whatever he wants. Although I personally don't understand why some people feel the need to constantly rant about things they dislike rather than focusing on the things they like. But that's just the way the Internet works. For some reason the anonymity of the Internet brings out the worst in some people.
In the particular case of The Order being more of an interactive movie than a game it's just a more negative way to say it'...
If I like a game it automatically has replay value to me.
What about Secret Ponchos , The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth , Dust and Spelunky? Those are the most recent ones I can remember.
Huh? They have a new game almost every month.
The review-scores were all over the place. It seems like for every 2,3 and 4 there was a 7, 8 and 9.
Glad I've stopped caring for review-scores a long time ago.
I've finally got the game today. I'm just two hours in but I gotta say I'm lycan it so far.
@nucky64: See? That's exactly what I meant when I said I don't get why everyone says that Demon's Souls is such a hard game. Is it really that hard to believe that someone could beat the game on his first try without using a guide and without dying over and over again?
As a matter of fact I've only beaten Demon's Souls once in my life and I never use any sort of guides on my first playthrough. And while I definately remember dying more than a couple times ...
How dare they take 5 minutes to make a new PSN Logo when they could've used that time to make the PS3 foreward compatible to the XBox One ... and cure cancer.
@abzdiine: I don't get why everyone is saying that Demon's Souls is hard. The AI patterns were very predictable and the enemies couldn't follow you very far. A lot of last gen games on higher difficulties are much harder.
It was challenging but not that hard imo.
@RedRailgun: I liked Enchanted Arms.
The Uncharted games as well as The Last of Us both had pre rendered cutscenes as opposed to The Order though so the transition between cutscene and gameplay might be less apparent in The Order.
This is not an established franchise from a veteran dev team. It's ridiculous to expect so much from a team that has never worked on an original IP before. Not only that but it's their first AAA home console game.
You can't expect them to put a game out that is on the same level as the best games that Naughty Dog, Bungie and Kojima Productions/Konami has ever made already.
Give them time to grow and they might become one of those god tier devs one...
I don't understand why so many NA teams are picking up korean players that barely speak english. I feel like communication is a lot more important than individual skill.
Awesome promotion. They should play this song when someone gets the deal:

@andibandit: You can always go to the most unrealistic extremes where the normal rules do not apply anymore. How would a 1 second game even be considered a game. And what would need to happen in that 1 second to be mindblowing?
Do you think a grass growing simulator would be a valueble experience because it takes a lot of time to grow grass in realtime?
