While its a fun game there are issues, besides what you mentioned the design of the game and lacking a story hurt it too. Game is way overhyped just because Carmack made it.
If anybody lives in the Tampa bay area in Florida I got the game up on craiglist if you would like to trade or get it for a bit cheaper.

How is it different. Just because it has the racing parts? It's a combo of fallout and other fps. There is no story and you just run around being everyone's bitch errand boy. I have been playing it and wouldn't give it anything above 8/10. I'm not on Id's dick and therefore not blinded. It's still fun but has many faults.
I agree. You know how pissed I was when I woke up without questioning anything and just became this guys bitch. There is simply no story and that's one of the most important things in a game to me.
How can you set up a cool as apocalyptic world with mutants and all kinds of shit and just not explain anything.
Certain games yes but most weren't harder. Yes there weren't any check points but that doesn't make it harder just more annoying to start over. Older games were a lot more simple, if you didn't realize you would start to get cocky and try to blow through it then die. Also just about all enemies had a pattern so once you remember that it was easy.
I have the game and while its good it is far from classic and I believe people only claim its a classic because of who the developers where.
maybe I'm just sick of games where I always have to run errands for someone and be their little bitch.

lot of unanswered questions and too many speculations about stuff like the locust origins, the sires, the locust queen. I have heard at least 10 different theories about all so there is definitely a lot more to explore in the gears universe.

Im extremely pissed about this embargo. I wanted to know if there was a difference between the two systems before ordering. I just said f it and ordered the PS3 version just because I have more ppl online even though I doubt anybody i know is picking this up. If i find out this is another fallout 3 case where the ps3 version is seriously lacking Im shipping it right back and skipping out on it. FU<K review embargoes.

Forza is a good game especially if you are fan of sim racers.
Remember you are not limited to one system. Your ps3 won't feel betrayed if you pick up a 360 controller ;)

For some reason I don't think bf3 or mw3 will get goty awards. K just wanted to get that out there. Maybe bf3 for pc.

Skyrim
Rage
Batman
And maybe dark souls (well its a niche game) or maybe little big planet 2 if ppl still remember (even though it didn't have as big an impact as the first)

Infamous 2 and little big planet were great but still not quite there.
Lbp2 lost the wow factor after the first. It's fun creating stuff but the game is not as much fun to play as it is to create.
I can say hardly anything negative about infamous 2.
Resistance 3 was good but not great. I love the whole resistance universe but none of them captured the same feel the first one had. ...

Get over yourself. What great ps3 exclusive have you played this year. I played all the AAA games on ps3 and gears 3 so far is the best. That is until uncharted 3 drops.
Hoping for gears prequel, how about the pendulum wars leading up to emergence day.
I can't wait. Definitely will be supporting this game with dlc. Fantastic campaign already and they are adding to it. Also can't wait for more maps.
Most recently I would say Siren is the best. Wish the game had a bigger release it deserved more attention and I didn't even play all the chapters.
Fatal frame was great, it needs a proper remake.
