in this day and age? no one cares. apart from the fans, everyone else pretty much forgets about games after a months release.

metacritic? only devs care about those because publishers will give them bonuses depending on that.

i dont hate review scores, individually they are great. problems arise when site A 7.5 could be the same as site B 8.5. everyones scales are different and putting an average on these scores mean nothing.

@lightdiego
very true, lots of fans or gamers in general have faith in certain developers and will not care what reviewers says because it will not ref...

just remember to make the game 20+ hours so that it can be a masterpiece and gamers will love it because they get their moneys worth. any entertainment which is $3/hr or less is good entertainment.

well technically peace walker was released on consoles =P

but on a more serious note if coop does exist i rather it be tacked on then be an actual experience. i know it is greedy for me but i think coop ruins the single player feel and atmosphere, the story or characters just doesnt feel right anymore and it ends up just being me and a friend instead of solid snake and soldier A.

re5 coop was enjoyable but that was due to my personal experiences with coop and...

chill out dude.
mgs1 was revealed in 1996 and got released 2 years later in 1998
mgs4 was revealed in 2005 and got released 3 years later in 2008
mgsV was revealed in 2012 and will be released this year.

do you have any problems with waiting? i mean i can understand if you was waiting for ff15/the last guardian we saw reveal trailers for those years and years ago and they have been in development since then.

3 years for a japanese deve...

us release dates:
ps3 - nov2006
mgs4 - jun 2008
ps2 - oct 2000
mgs 2 - nov 2001
ps1 - sept 1995
mgs - oct 1998

not gonna bother counting ground zeroes because that wasnt a full mgs experience but considering the release window rumours its pretty close to mgs4 when it came out over a year and a half later. you just bought into this generation a little sooner than you did with others.

as long as they are good ports it is ok. konami released silent hill and zoe hd which were supposedly the worst ports ever. a ps3 version of a game to look and run worse than a ps2 game is unacceptable.

remastered games? i dont really care. flood the market with them and i will ignore most of them. as long as a company/dev is not wasting too many resources on these projects and concentrating more on new projects then thats ok.
give the projects to other teams to give them experience. bluepoint games made one good game, several of the best ps2 to ps3/360 hd releases and a few other great ports to the ps vita and 360.

whats the harm in making a port of a game to anothe...

my ds4 battery sucks and it seems many other people have the same problem as me so why would anyone use that over nintendos controller?

i know gamers lhave a preference on controllers but would you really like to use a controlller that was designed to be used on another console to be used on a wiiU?

Played a little of the series and it was great. Had solid controls for the first game and made every other 3rd person shooter have similar controls.

It also came out at the right time and made co op what it is today.

Anyway solid controls and had this weight to the characters rhat madr it feel satisfying.

If this series was on ps I probs would have liked it a lot more. I didn't like gaming on my 360

I think its confirmed that it isn't xbone exclusive.

Judging by the definitive version it looks like people don't mind spending full price on a game that cones out later.

I will definitely buy if it xcomes out on ps4

Have you found the black bars distracting yet? I heard it can be a pain in the ass when you are trying to aim out of a window to someone on a different floor

Heavenly sword was great and it felt complete as a game.

What i hear about this game is that it doesnt feel like its complete and felt more like a prologue into a big series.

If there isnt anything too bad about this game i hope they get a chance of a sequel.

Cliffy seems to be a nice guy. A developer should be professional when talking about other games and shouldn't really step out of line.

He talks a lot about how the cutscenes were too much and had a bit too many qte parts. I wonder if Santa Monica studios had part to do with this?

as crazy as some of the stuff that happens in mgs series especially 3, i am ok with it. this horn thing is just kinda annoying.

in the reboot, the cutscenes has lara with similar features to the original character, the in game model looked like somthing totally different. i would also add that the definitive version lara looked moremlike cg lara from the intro and is a much better representation of lara

i stillthinks its cool, cgi cutscenes are probably not as important though since we can get prerendered in engine cutscenes that would look very similar.

cutscenes are still very important in gaming, we need little breaks every so often and a cutscene can be at the right moment to take a breather. it also allows the storyteller to show you exactly what he wants to be shown.

ffviii would always be my favourite cgi cutscene game even though many others looked b...

they certainly arent the best but it was at the right time. good enough looking cg that had great animations, it also a good way to show people what the characters are meant to look like without it looking totally different. ffvii had sd characters but most of the cg had normal looking characters which didnt mix well.

ffix was even better but there was something about ffviii gameplay and cg that mixed better than any other game.

3rd person shooters are pretty much known to have co-op. this was probably because of gears of war. mp in a game with guns is also what people expect. not saying that every game should have it or if points should be taken away but some people expect that in the package and it may feel like something is missing if it isnt in it.

co-op can also make a bad game good. its hard to judge since playing with friends might make the game seem better but realistically it was a bad game ...
