Well hopefully more people will have a PS4 as a main console for this generation. If 360 wasn't so succesful then PS3 figures would have been around 100+mil.
Just looking at Sony vs MS alone, hopefully sony will have 70% of the market share. Didn't include Nintendo because their market is slightly different.
Just thought that Japanese artists are more suitable for these type of games. Then I noticed it was a Japanese studio. Kinda shocked tbh, thought it was done by a western studio.
I thought the reason why there was hardly any piracy on the PS3 was because of the blu-ray and the size of the games.
Didn't cell processors flop? I mean if PS3's didn't exist then it would have been a complete disaster.
x86 architecture is supposedly easier to develop games for and that would probably benefit us gamers.
Not sure at all how programming for games work, but since PS4 has an x86 architecture then would it be possible to load a windows or even play PC games on it?
All these streaming services prety much rely on games consoles to be even more succesful.
If PS4 has tablet/smartphone integration then these streaming services would boom like crazy. I mean if I could choose a film from my tablet and then that would automatically turn on my PS4 and play that movie almost instantly then that would be amazing.

Still not sure why I posted the previous generations consoles sold but I guess it helps put it into perspective of how many consoles are sold each gen.

Also how is PS4 not about gaming, its more about gaming more then ever. Social aspects has been added so that gaming will be integrated into our internet social lives aswell.

hardware wise would never match, but if you consider the fact that developers (especially first party) will only have to develop for a single spec machine they can max out the potential of each part.

The Wii was a pointless piece of gimmicky crap that we all had as a second console because it was cheap. The WiiU will be the same. Good news for Nintendo, but for us gamers on the internet will probably not care.

what's the point of always online DRM on a console? I understand Sony may want this option due to its online structure. However PS3 piracy is pretty much non-existant.
MS structure with live integrated into system pretty much is an always on kinda system. I mean having a 360 without live subscription is pretty much pointless and with live subscription then that pretty much stops piracy right?

It's actually been a while since I haven't been sad or disappointed when someone mentions shenmue. Maybe in a year or 2 when I know the final chapter(s) will never be released than I probably get disappointed again.

its not just a games console, its meant to be a media hub just like the PS3.
I do admit I only used CD's on my PS3 once and most likely will never use it but its just something thats good to have.
It doesn't play vinyls, cassetes, vhs or super 8 tapes because they would need something that could read the discs.
yeah, its a shame for the 0.01% of users that use the feature. When I first purchased my PS3 from Japan whilst I was on holiday I ripped a few audio CD's so I could listen to music in the hotel room. never used it since but it was the only option I had at that time.
I don't understand why you got so many disagrees, its a feature you clearly and it doesn't cost anything for Sony to let you play audio CD's.

I don't like the fact that Hayter won't reprise his role as snake in the new MGS. But to be honest, it won't stop me from playing the game.
I still think Kojima should have tried to see if hayter could have changed his voice a little to suit the new Big Boss.

I know GTA5 would have been rushed for next gen but I probably prefer that than playing it on a PS3/360. I'm pretty sure the next gen ports would have higher resolution, faster loadtimes, better textures, better framerate.
I personally don't think it is CG.
But if you think about the Emily CG interview which was 4 years old then it kinda makes you think that this could be done and the technology is certainly there.
Now if it is CG then it would be cool if he appears in a GDC presentation and then he starts going crazy and the screen starts showing his skull like the campbells crazy codec call in MGS2.

Well, i haven't had much experience with that, but as far as I am concerned, yyou cannot access any of the streaming services on the 360 unless you have a live subscription.
Does Smartglass automatically turn on the 360? or does the 360 have to be turned on for it to work? The next xbox and PS4 will be on standby mode and could be turned on instantly.
