How about those people who bought a Blu-ray player this year and find out they can't upgrade to Blu-ray 1.1 or 2.0. Ouch....
So where and when is this "magical" sony ps3, blu-ray 1.1 update coming out? It seemed to not be included in the latest 2.0 update and according to sony support they don't know of any update for it. As far as all the poor consumers that spent $300+++ on a BR player "No update for you!" you don't have the necessary internal hardware. Way to treat your customers.

The only reason why Sony has so many updates is because Sony releases product that's not fully ready and the updates are needed. Like Blu-ray... Give me a break Sony is so "Play Behind". At this point I'm not touching the console until Sony releases a software update for Home that includes xbm and Blu-ray 1.1 or 2.0 + a game worth playing. Without both I'll just keep on playing my 360 and wii... I hope others wake up and don't buy the console until it's ready to take a leadership ro...

Better yet do a search on the auction for 200. You'll get 1 hit "2007". I feel real bad for the tool that buys this auction expecting something more than a crapy yellow paint job.
The 1.1 mandate also decrees that all Blu-ray players must hold a minimum 256MB of persistent memory storage, which will help power the picture-in-picture feature. Who know, maybe the PS3's HD will help with this requirement.
Good thing this didn't happen in Florida, but I'm sure Jack Thompson will still be all over it.
Blu-Ray is 3 times the speed of DVD... You don't know how much I hated to say that..

There is no Blu-ray updates. If you read my link above you would see that Sony support does not share your views. So I'm not spending any money on a PS3 until I see a firmware update for the future specs of Blu-ray. I'm not holding my breath...
