I was thinking if they need to make a less powerful cheaper Xbox for next gen why not use the 6Tflop X1X as a base model maybe improve the CPU? I live what they did with X1X. I think it should be the base model going forward with some minor or major improvements.
I would think devs would be used to multiple skus by now. They make games for the Switch, PS4, Pro, Xbox One, Xbox 1X, and PC, tailoring each of the games to each hardware.
Not only did they price the disc-less XBOX One terribly but they released it too late. I think it should have released in the same window as the regular S launch and the target price probably should have been $199.
As far as the next console, I am getting the most complete or superior one whatever that cost. 2 skus might be a good move for the masses, though.

After the Vita which I loved, I really can't see buying anymore portables from Sony. looking at what MS is doing with Xcloud, and streaming almost to any device, do you really need a portable?

I do expect a slightly more powerful Switch but 4K, no way, as the console would have to sport tech in the PS4 Pro, Xbox1X power range and given Nintendo's history, there is no way we will see a power jump like that from Nintendo in 2020 for the portable.

Nintendo is in their own lane. I don`t see Sony or MS as a global threat to Nintendo`s portable that docks. I got a Switch a month a go and love it for what it is. It plays the Nintendo games I like, and you don`t need uber power for that.
