Moreover, the assumption that they don't want games going to "foul-mouthed people" implies that Nintendo is a moralistic company who only wishes to sell to specific groups of people. Which is certainly not true. They have no way of knowing how "foul-mouthed" any of their customers are, and at what point is that even a concern for a business?
During his rant, Angry Joe has a really cynical but funny discussion where he's like "Maybe I should just pay Nintendo for recommending this game to my friend at all." It's so dumb. It's also sad that Nintendo so frequently gets a pass on this type of behaviour just because they're so loved.
Although, to play devil's advocate, not giving a release date helps them avoid the Rockstar issue of announcing and pushing back a zillion times, which frustrates people.
I'm okay without a release date, but selling so much for so little access is frustrating.
I had the opposite reaction. It's fine in the first few hours (although aggravating), but after several hours straight of loading screens over and over any time you die or are teleporting around, it's a huge headache.
I get that the world is big, complex, and takes a lot to render. But it's pretty sad that "next-gen" struggles so much to do the bare minimum.
This is the only acceptable answer.
I chose Battle Royale because saying "BR is the BR of video games" is repetitive and silly. And Hunger Games has better name recognition, whereas most people haven't seen the arguably superior source material. ;)
He insists it's okay! Check the article, it has his tweets.
Neither of these games are released silly. You should read the article. ;)
To be fair, EVE Online is also known for some of the biggest scams in gaming history. But in a good way. :p
I just don't know how they even DO this stuff. I accidentally called 911 when I was a kid and almost had a panic attack when the police actually showed up at my house after tracing the call. These kids are summoning whole SWAT teams. Bonkers!
Seriously, this is cathartic if anything. After so many of these went under the radar by police, it's good to see them taking it seriously and punishing those responsible.
They've said that they're interested! Hopefully as development ramps up again, good things can happen.
Neither did I! This came as a surprise, but I'm glad they got things settled without disturbing the game for players.
VERY fun. I've loved the concept of Hawken, and the execution is great. Feels similar to Call of Duty styled gunplay (Hawken had jetpacks before it was cool). So it's very fast-paced, short matches, and requires multi-tasking and skill. Not to mention it's seriously gorgeous to look at, especially if your PC can handle it.
It's already free bud. You should read the article. :)
Yeah, 3000 was my favourite. 4 had its own upsides too. The only really bad game they had was the most recent SimCity, and that was largely due to EA asserting their dominance over the IP rather than Maxis' decisions.
Correct. As mentioned in the article, this is just central Maxis. Basically the part of the company that made everything except The Sims. So, y'know, the one that made every game that designed the simulation genre ever.
The Sims 4 development will continue, but EA has separately threatened to shut them down too if the game doesn't sell well. Which it hasn't.
All's fair in love and EVE. As long as you're in nullsec. ;)
Star Citizen will absolutely be more accessible from a player standpoint. It's just a simpler game, by design. I love EVE to death, but that is literally a spreadsheet simulator. :P
If he left that video up, not only would Nintendo continue pulling ad revenue from it - something he clearly disagrees with, and why would he let them continue to profit off of his creation? - but it would be left as a strike on his account, putting his entire online career on YouTube at risk. He needed to get rid of it for the sake of his livelihood.
