Platinum could take ideas from Scalebound and use them to create another Ip.They wouldn't be able to fund such a project on a small indie budget though
I'm not going to praise Microsoft being as they closed down nearly every one of their 1st party studios along with ruining others. am sure some good people are within the Xbox division that really care about gaming and dislike going down this direction but there is really nothing they could do. The problem with Microsoft in gaming starts with the top cats running the company.
I'm skeptical myself and will take a wait and see approach when it comes to Switch.I just hope Nintendo makes the modern jump and not allow themselves to be stuck in time.
Nintendo aren't going any where though. They produce tons of quality software but just need to catch up to modern times in terms of hardware/online features.
I liked the concept and the gameplay shown and felt it could have been a quality Xbox exclusive. It was kind of rough but am sure things could have improved going forward.SB wasn't going to break sales records but it could have been a gem in the Xbox line up regardless.
Microsoft lied/pretended Scalebound was on track even though they knew it wouldn't see the light of day
The PS4 just keeps on giving when it comes to quality software
"Microsoft is so unbelievably money-rich contrasted with its rivals."
Yes,Microsoft does have tons of cash but they aren't going to invest too much into a small area of the company like Xbox. The Xbox brand is turning into a Win10 set top box.
Sony is basically competing with themselves each yr when it comes to content
Phil is just doing the same thing ex Xbox execs did which is count on timed deals and the same 3 franchises.Microsoft have been doing nothing but closing down studios instead of building them.
Sony put in the work to build up talented studios to create exclusives along with strong relationships with 2nd and 3rd party. Its all paying off darn well for them.
Microsoft could have done that ages ago but instead they steered Xbox into a pure western brand.
I think Xbox doesn't have the financial backing from the suits that it once did.It seems the top cats are cutting back and are only willing to put funds to certain areas which supports Win10 as whole..That would explain all these Microsoft funded games being mostly built around multiplayer connection between the console and Win10..Microsoft hasn't even put much effort into building any new first party studios. Its been mostly outsourced work and going back to buying timed exclusive dea...
Scalebound was one of few titles on Xbox that caught my attention.
Here are some more
Ori
Quantum Break
Sunset
D4
Crimson Dragon
Phantom Dust- The creative idea sounded good
Really wish the best for Platinum going forward
Platinum will just have to find solid partners to work with like have done before.I'm sure Nintendo or Sony wouldn't have any issue signing them to create something exclusive.
It also upset me that Microsoft gave up on Swery and wouldn't support more D4 episodes
I've always said Scalebound looked good and that it could be huge
Microsoft problem is the lack of having a diverse line up which could attract more gamers. launching a new piece of hardware won't do much with out the software needed to bring in new buyers. Microsoft needs Xbox to break away from only being known as the shooter/racer machine.
I hope all people affected by this are able to find jobs asap.It always sucks when people work hard and then find out they are being let go due to issues outside of their control.
