Lol this is always the same. At the beginning of the Generation when PS4 was vastly superior from a technological standpoint, resolution mattered. The forums were littered with PS4 fans ragging on Xbox fans for their "simulated 4k", their inferior ports their "not actually 1080p" hardware performance.
Then MS releases a system, for reasons I will never understand, with some serious power in it, markedly more than what the PS4 or Ps4 pro have, and resolu...
Be interesting to see if journalists do right by this one. The early press suggests gorgeously rendered and very difficult. reminds me of 8-bit era games. I didn't love the Dark Souls games, but I can appreciate why so many people do. I would never call them bad games, just that they are not for me.
Lol yep, not really a contest at all. I am sure this article was written to draw clicks from XBOX people like myself, but I will stick with the PC when I am able to, especially for First Person games. They are only foolish for not releasing part 1 for the PC as well.
Oh I agree. I was definitely pointing to the fact that these modern game writers don't seem to have much actual writing ability, much less any subtlety. It often does feel like the "diverse" characters included in games were written by what a straight white dude thought a gay, trans or person of color would talk and/org behave like. Almost like they were scared to just have nuanced and interesting characters and let the gamers discover them organically, through playing the game ...
For me, it is simple. When I look at all the SJW stuff and all the backlash from SJW types and the anti-SJW types, I see it for what it is. Science Fiction was on the forefront of inclusion and diversity. One need only look at Gene Roddenberry and what he was aiming for with Star Trek, his choice to feature characters of color, etc. I get that Sci-Fi is about diversity, even inclusion, but something has been lacking in our modern era. I think that is writing ability and perspective. People st...
Fascinating that Eurogamer and IGN seem to be the only folks that are coming at this one a little more realistically. I mean is it going to be awesome? Sure. Is it going to be ground breaking and the greatest thing since sliced bread? No. IS it going to be more of the awesome Uncharted action we know and love? Certainly. I have finally reached the point at which I wish scores would all just go away. Just stick with pass/fail and make people actually read what you have to say on a game.
Not sure anything but a delay here would have been a good thing. It was clear that the game was not what they wanted and certainly not where they wanted it to be. Not to mention we had yet to see any of the cloud destruction features they mentioned. With Scalebound canceled, this being canceled would have been bad, but this game coming at the launch of the X1X and being a dumpster fire would have been ever worse. AT least now the developers have time to make it better and if not, by the time ...
Let's be clear, the games have been out a day or two as full featured games and the Steam Sales charts for two days or so is not really indicative of success or failure. You know what is? Actual sales numbers. You know what takes time to collect and share? Real sales numbers. You know what changes all the time and doesn't really provide you with any context? Steam's sales charts. So while I will be picking up Hellblade this weekend, let's try to avoid the far too early hyperbo...
While they can have a shelf life, this game is making money hand over first and adding it to consoles for Xbox and Sony is only going to amp their sales up even more.
Given that last year we saw Dishonored 2 and the latest Deus Ex games released in a busy window and their sales did terrible, coupled with the poor sales of Prey, I would be concerned. The only thing that is good news is that MS is still talking about this game. It is one of their IPs that they need to do something with. I would love to see them pick up Brute Force and try again as well. I won't even discuss what I would do to see a new Crimson Skies game.
Not sure I have seen this many gamers on any game at one time. I think Sony's MAG supported like 128 players or something. That seems pretty intense for all at once.
Yeah when single player games go away, I will go away. Games as a service doesn't do it for me, nor do multi-player centric titles. Never has and never will. I am sure I am just old and that is fine, when they stop making the games I wish to play, then I will simply stop gaming.
I agree. Keep it fresh and what better way than a solid spin-off? If they can keep it fun and entertaining and make it successful, it sounds like a win to me. Then you end the prime series and continue in the same universe, but keep from diminishing returns.
Every once in a while I pay attention and laugh at something they say in Dragon Age, but until the stuff you hear and overhear has some bearing on the plot, it becomes superfluous, like flavor text on a magic the gathering card.
Never been a fan of something that seeks to punish somebody for winning. Seems like a 9th place trophy to me.
Not to mention the Thief series which was kind of plundered a bit and likely System Shock as well.
I think in the US the performance was the number one indicator. Last gen in the US the 360 was the machine to play on for multi-platform, this gen it seems to work better for sony. Although this gen I just moved to PC for the multi-platform stuff. Generally cheaper 3 months later on Steam.
This one was fascinating. Sony people hated MS for doing it last gen, but oh how the worm has turned this time. It stinks when it happens to your brand I suppose. I only care if it affects single player content.
I think more games where you make your own character and therefore can be whomever you like, coupled with more interesting locations would be great. Given that most games I play are sci-fi or Fantasy based and even strategy games, they don't really occur in America. What 60% of games occur in the US? Outside of American sports games or your EA/Activision Call of Duty Battlefield War FPS games?
Was it great? Sure. Was it scary? Yes. Was it as intense as the first time the villagers started breaking into my hotel room and chased me through the hotel, forcing me to make a crazy jump to safety? Nope. Was it as unsettling as nearly my entire Amnesia experience? Nope. Was it as horrifying as my Fatal Frame Experiences? Not at all. What folks lack in 2018 is a concept of history. P.T. was barely a game, but it was a very memorable experience. Best horror game? Perhaps to somebody who has ...
