Not directx12 can't be officially used by Sony Microsoft proprietary API.
Sony can try modify Open GL to have similar features to directx12 but it will depend on the RD costs to create similar software?
Directx12 features might cost a lot to code for the PS4? Sony may not have the money.
I wonder why he was claiming it was PS4 footage? I guess the console version isn't looking next gen then? I expect the PS4 version to look slightly better than the x box version though.

Not trolling Sony does not provide dedicated servers, full stop. If you're playing on dedicated servers they belong to a gaming company. Either EA, Dice etc.

X box 1 has not got new drivers it got new SDK's they are development tools for gaming development on xb1. They came out in March 2014. Directx11 is still the graphic driver been used for the xb1 till directx12 arrives.

DX12 early access program is this year for gaming developers if they sign up for it.
2015 is the main release which likely has more of an effect with the PC market.
With early access 2014 its mostly like x box 1 games will have direectx12 before holiday 2015
Infamous came out in March so we'll have to see if Titanfall pushed Microsoft ahead for the month of March.
Microsoft should still be behind Sony with worldwide sales though.
Look Titanfall was in development for four years long before the x box 1 came out and its likely Titanfall isn't optimised on x box 1 and this is why.

I think the big advantage of directx12 is actually on the CPU side not GPU. Of course some extra features will make the GPU better with directx12
CPU on the x box 1 most of the work is been done on mainly 1 core, Directx12 improves this and spreads out the work more evenly to the other 4 to 6 cores available to games.
