Natural selection is doing it's job. Nothing to see here.
Greeting from Sweden, America ain't got shit on Swedens professional whiners.
Yeah, sure. But Sony should release official drivers for it. Can't really see a downside to it. While it might be plug and play it doesn't work for everything like that. For instance I need to use DS4Tool in order to play Dark Souls.
I just think they would sell more controllers and I hardly think drivers and a simple software would cost them too much.
@GameDev1 Yeah, I'm planning on playing it a second time actually. I mean replay value can be a subjective thing, even if there isn't an obvious incentive.
Heck I've watched The Lord of the Rings trilogy atleast 4 times.
I think what people think most when talking about replay value are features that incentivise replay, i.e NG+, Co-op and what have you.
Let's say for instance that you didn't like the story, then there won&...
What? Why the F would they have their first press conference only to have the majority of it be about a game that's already release and whose new versions are already unveiled?
What the hell were you thinking?
Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.
@colonel179, sure but would you rather the QTE sequences were cutscenes instead, without any interaction at all?
I just think it would be really awkward with a gamepad. I mean control and interface is the most obvious challenge in bringing these types of games to the console market, and then I'd question if there's an audience for it.
I heard people got used to Dragon Age: Origions on consoles, but it got quite the flak for it's controls aswell.
But we'll never know unless they try in the end.
If you have a pc that can run DA:O you should be able...
It's their first conference, so they'd better come out swinging. Fallout will be of the outmost importance, and Elder Scrolls title seems unlikely though unless they have two teams in which case they'd pretty much won E3 already.
And whatever happend with Prey 2? Heard they went back to square one with that and had Arkane work on it or something.
And hopefully no DOOM, that's about as unexciting as it can get.
And in place of Dishonored, Rage and Wolfen...
It's buy to play, and don't be fooled by the so called 'convenience' items, it's the same crap all the time, they sell exp boosts and what not and balance the game around that.
It never works, and this game had no redeeming quality before, I highly doubt it will now.
I'm surprised they are dumb enough to follow through with the console versions, but hey they are trying to rip you off after all.
All fine and well, so long as they don't shoehorn in co-op or any other multiplayer. They should play to their strengths and refine that and add what they can were it makes sense.
I'd love a reason to just shoot stuff here, I really liked the gunplay.
Either way I don't think R@D are sitting idly by and ignoring everyone hopefully their sequel will please a large audience.
Where did all the rationale come from? People determining what they themselves deem valuable!? Noooo... How dare you!
But yeah I'm too me religion is worth nothing to someone else it means everything.
Really don't get the whole pricing controversy.
Dark Souls was never "insanely difficult", if you fail it's your own fault, you are supposed to learn from your mistakes that's why you are being punished. If they add what you are suggesting here it's not really a souls game anymore. Because it will be neither interesting nor rewarding.
And most of the time you had 1 or 2 bonfires in every level aswell. And if you spent 20+ hours trying to beat the first level then you weren't paying attention :P.
No replay value is also subjective. The pacing is actually one of the best things about the game, but I suppose thats also subjective. QTE's aren't a problem, firefight are decent, lack of freedom sure, if you would ask my brother that would be a good thing. So again subjective.
See the problem?
I loved it. I knew it was going to be around 8 hours and heavy on story and cinematics.
I seriously don't know where people got the idea that it would be something else.
RAD have been calling it cinematic and what have you since it's very reveal.
And if some people don't value that, then that's fine.
Some people don't like Metal Gear Solid either.
It's fine to have your own opinion.
I just hope you didn't cancel it because of this review. It's Kotaku for crying out loud. It's not the game that's depressive it's the reviewer.
Most of the negative reviews are written by corrupt outlets, many of which were part of the gamejournos pro group. My guess? Sony wouldn't pay them for the reviews so they gave the game a bad score, like a child throwing a tantrum. Yes, yes tinfoil and all that but this ain't the first time they've bashed a good game, I wonder why they even work where they work when they clearly don't even like games. And here you have a no-name website who most likely get no traffic and they ...
Took me roughly 9 hours to finish the game. Fine by me since I liked the world/setting, the characters and the shooting was solid.
Either way they've laid a really good foundation for the future.
And tbh I'd rather have a new IP with potential than the same old CoD, AC, BF, Far Cry and so on.
The embargo will be lifted on the 18th of February from what I've read.
Glad to hear it's before the 20th.
It's a buisness not a fucking charity. That increased price is due to shipment costs most likely. They need to order the stuff and have it brought to their central warehouse and then from the warehouse they need to ship it out to the stores, and this costs money in case you didn't know.
