They can take their precious time. I'm not in haste at all
heck I'm about to get a Pro.
I will stick with the current console(s) because if this gen is anything to go by
It will take years for great games to start dropping on the new generation.
The only condition I upgrade early is if there's NATIVE backwards compatibility that takes advantage of the new hardware for free.
I have a lot to play on gen 8 still.

It's difficult to focus on a market that isn't your primary audience.
If you're going to continue shipping hardware to the country
then you'll have to make the effort to provide content for the audience there no matter how small they may be initially.

PS4 is 'stomping' xo in sales because gamers put Sony's product in that position.
That has nothing to do with being able to play legacy tiles on the latest hardware.
We have every right to want such a feature. We spend money on hardware and games.
It is very much required and the vast majority of gamers would appreciate
not requiring additional hardware to play legacy titles.
We are here to play whenever they decide to deliver on a larger scale.

Until then, we will play ball with whoever is delivering blockbuster titles.
And that is Sony right now
they are not of the same generation.
PlayStation is alone as far best exclusive support in gen 8.
on topic - Why do we need to ask such a question? The companies are doing what they are suppose to do.
They're supporting their platforms and in turn they're rewarded.

The old games are topping charts and selling, obviously this is a business opportunity for the companies.
I just hope this doesn't encourage them to limit compatibility on newer hardware. ps5 and co'.
'old' Software should be compatible on the latest hardware.
The companies are taking advantage by re packaging and selling games we already bought back to us.
These remastered games are topping charts which means games are timeless. Which means gamers play games regardless of how old or new they are.
although I'd rather get an X . . it has to wait.

Good shout.
It's not an X but its still an improvement over the base PS4 plus you get to play the upcoming first party titles with improved visuals and sometimes performance too.
I wouldn't even consider base hardware at this point in the generation.
I have a Pro pre ordered

titles like this have always been niche
they best be careful what period they release in the west
