I've only read about the X but it sounds like an incredible machine. I love my Pro and like you said it's the games but more than that it's the quality of the games. GOW blew me away and the nuances that came through the mo cap is incredible! It HZD, Uncharted 4 and Spider-Man have stayed with me long after I stopped playing Andrea I'll play them again. That's what does it for me. That and all the other third, secondindie and VR titles and I'm set.

Yeah they've been doing this too long to be in the position they are in. I loved the OG Xbox and the 360 until 3 RRD's and even then the software was winding down. Alan Wake was the last Xbox game I bought. I've played some of the earlier Xbox One games at my cousins and they were fine but not enough for me to get an Xbox One.

Yeah I went through 3 and that's when I checked out. The X is a great console, technically speaking. I think they learned from the RRD but they just can't deliver the software.

M$ is excellent at creating hardware. That isn't up for debate but funding and creating software, the quality of Sony's Worldwide Studios is the issue IMO.
Quality software is the main attraction in any generation. The sales numbers reinforce this.

Doesn't require them and I get what you are saying but but I'd argue it's fertile ground for them. That's what loot boxes/micro transactions are about. Extending profits. No I went through 3 and as stated above that's when I stopped being an Xbox customer. I was just stating that from what I've read the X is a great machine. I carry no water for M$ ,in fact I'm pretty bitter at them. The article was talking about what they need to do and I just stated that at this time they seem fine at hardware but not at software.
