I mean to be fair AMD has been spot on with the information they have been providing for quite a while. Yes, it'll be nice to get independent reviews but let's not drag AMD through the mud when their track record on Zen and RX have been very accurate.

Well... at least Sony is launching with first party games made for the PS5 cross gen or not, that's more than Microsoft can say....

"How will a 3070 run a game in six years?"

Better than the SX console in 6 years... it's nearly twice as powerful..And what about the series s?

I mean your whole comment is based off false narrative, you clearly have an incorrect opinion of how PC's work. The 3070 will always be faster than the series x even 100 years from now. I am still using a 1080 and it's going strong, I haven't come across a single game it can't play. ...

Oh give me a break you only care that I said this because it involved Microsoft.

I'm sure the price drops on the Series S have nothing to do with the lower than expected demand for a console weaker than their last gen console.

You post is filled with just latent B.S.

And how fast they sold out doesn't matter if it was only 1,000 consoles just enough for Microsoft to be able to put out a press release about how fast they sold out in Japan.

Get back to us in 6 months when xbox is back to selling a number of consoles you can count on your fingers every week.

Yes, PS5 has "SuperSpeed" 10Gbit/s USB support, it's the only console that has that. The. SX is 5Gbit/s.

Not the same Richard Leadbetter who has repeatedly criticized PS4 for exhaust heat and fan noise? They have two Richard's at DF right?

It's not on par even just price wise, this is an unfair statement. This SSD is a full generation ahead of what Microsoft is offering. It's more than twice the value.

If AMD can nail the price they can have an extremely competitive card. If they could put this card out at $600 or less it'll be very competitive. If they can get it at the rumored $500 or less it'll be the go to card for a lot of people.

I mean, Samsung and WD both have guaranteed performance with their SSD's so i'm not sure what the point is.

The issue here is Microsoft is charging the same price but the device only offers half the performance. Microsoft is doing the exact opposite of what you are claiming the benefits of proprietary are. And I think I can make a pretty good argument that historically proprietary hasn't been used to increase quality but infact has been used to keep prices hig...

"Thankfully MS is starting to talk about having future non-proprietary cards."

If they have to be licensed by Microsoft they are still propriety even if they have multiple brands.

"Just go with an external for now.."

Yea it's nice that Sony actually went with full super speed 10gbs USB unlike Microsoft which cheaped out with only USB 3.1 at 5gbs.

The irony of the fact they you needed to say this in all caps and don't understand that it's Greenberg who is the one who is saying that buying games doesn't matter if they are on gamepass isn't lost on me...

It's Greenberg who is downplaying buying games...

Wait, what?!? You think the media is biased towards Sony... wow...

Have you ever heard of IGN or GameSpot or Digital Foundry/ Eurogamer or Tom's Hardware or WCCFL?

Because I am certain i can find way more articles and sites that have tried to play up Microsoft and downplay Sony.

Use that SX money and buy a 3070 or AMD equivalent... If you already have the basics for a PC that's the way to go, easy choice...

At least for me.

1966d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Huh? Are you calling the fact that Sony correctly realized there would be more demand for the disk based version and made more of those available a negative thing? Also this isn't a representation of what those people actually bought it's what they said they wanted to buy.

"Paying more for much less... "

I disagree. We have twice as fast of a SSD an actual next generation controller (with haptics, motion controls with a speaker and a m...

For an SSD that fast $229 actually is a very good deal when compared with other similar SSD's. It's has more than double the write speed and almost double the read speed as the Sabrant Rocket which has been the go to PCIe4 SSD for basically the same price.

That's not to say it's not expensive but when you compare it to Microsoft's proprietary SSD that's less than half the speed and the same price... for a console owner it's a steal of a price.
