If one is 8-10 and the other is 1-2 that's a huge difference. And that's just initial loading, imagine how that translates into actual game development.
Imagine in Ratchet and Clank the world switching would be WAY less impressive if you were stuck in an elevator for 8-10 seconds between worlds versus nearly instantaneous switching.
Sony is going to be doing things SX can't or has to shove an elevator into to make it work.
