Oh man, I kinda knew it cannot compete with todays best shooters. But i hoped for at least 6/10 - 7/10 cliche explosive ride for the sake of the old times.

EA was great, simple, lots of gameplay, generaly good stuff

As an european, I agree with "sleeker, cleaner and more refined" part, but with that humour part you got it all wrong Jaffe. Irony or humor is definitely not a decision making element with games for me.
If they cant do proper DMC, than they should drop it. A bad game is still a bad game (regardless of the franchise). We are not sheep.

exactly! I didn't like the conference, from a hardcore gamer's perspective, but from business point of view, it was very good, kinect was the name of the show, kinect here, kinect there, disney, star wars, elmo. Its the stuff parents will buy for their kids.
Yes, well said. But there is a potential danger. If this cathces on as a new trend, who is gonna draw a line between what is "good enough to be free" and what is the "richer experience"?
We can end up having free online but on just 4 maps with just 2 weapons, because all the good stuff will require fee.
A good analogy is playstation network plus. It adds some privilages and extra content, but doesnt change the online experience. Its a good thing if its done...

The thing is, since MGS1, playstation was always the primary or time/exclusive platform.
This game is pure awesome. Simple and unique. Give yourself a break from COD and play Samorost.
I think, either do a good SP or dont do it at all. And vice versa with MP. 5-8 hrs IS short. I finished killzone 2 in 7 hrs. It was fantastic (awesome gameplay), and disappointing at the same time (lenght). So starhawks SP may end up being great, but it will be short nevertheless.
