I'm getting GT5, it's getting that Spec 2 update on Oct 11 and it's only $40 now.
I'm not a huge racing fan so there is a chance I'll play either game for 10hrs and never pick it up again, especially considering all the other great games coming out soon.
GT5 looks a lot better despite the pictures being kinda small. It would look even better in real life due to GT5 higher resolution.

Played the F4 demo and really like it but wasn't sure if I should just get GT5 instead b/c it's cheaper. The online in GT5 seems archaic (and I read that the AI is bad) but this update might just persuade to get it instead.
I hope he's right about a 2012-2013 next-gen console release. I'm never buying a launch console again after my 360 broke 5 times (I treated it like gold, my PS2 and Xbox 1 still work). Plus look at early 3DS owners.

I remember when I used to go to the arcade and think Daytona graphics were INCREDIBLE. It's amazing that we have graphics 5 times as good in our houses now for 200-300 dollars.

It's strange, N64 was my last Nintendo console, Playstation took over for me when FF7 and Tekken released - it just seemed more mature and cool to my adolescent mind.
Nintendo was so stupid to release another cartridge based system, they lost so much 3rd party support and haven't really gained it back since.
Although I'm scared Nintendo might screw over the early adopters - I'm happy that finally Nintendo can do justice to it's amazing IPs.
I can't wait for Metroid, I just hope they don't give way more HD space 1 year after launch, the current amount is inadequate.
Still don't like the controller though, I wish Nintendo attempted to innovate with online instead of the controller.
I'm not getting either one, Batman and Skyrim for me instead. I already have so many MP-centric shooters I can play whenever the MP urge strikes.
It's not like the SP in these military shooters is ever that great anyways. I'm not falling for the hype anymore.
I completely disagree with the author. I love a cinematic experience and feel a strong narrative is an essential part of the majority of SP games.
I love Uncharted and Halo because I can play the SP over and over again because find the story and world so entertaining. Without a strong narrative I wouldn't really like the game that much.

The story was good, and better than many other games this gen - overall the game was excellent and a GOTY contender but I wouldn't call it one of the greatest of all time IMO
Android and iphone games offer the same entertainment as the ones listed are way cheaper.
Looking at that pic just made me think how nice it will be when Nintendo releases games that actually look great with Wii U.
I think PS3 and 360 are the minimum for great looking games, not to say games can't look much better, it's just that the graphics (in many games, not all) are good enough to always be acceptable, sort of like Toy Story.
Batman AC is my number one, I think I may cancel my BF3 pre-order for it.
I've already bought 3 shooters this year and SP is my where my preferences are.
I also have a PS3 and wouldn't say that all you need is PS3 as one of my fav games this gen is Reach (my 2010 GOTY), also Gears is great as well. Personally, I need both but I'm a gaming addict.
Coming from an owner of both systems, they each have there flaws and merits but you're right, if I HAD to recommend just one console, it would be the PS3 just b/c online is free and you get a lot more for your money (Blu-ray looks/sounds amazing, way better than any dl)...
