Not buying a 3D tv until they don't require glasses - it's like when people bought the early HD TV's that required a bulb, DLP TVs I think they were called. Early adopters always get burned in terms of both price and tech. I know, I bought a 360 within a year of launch.
"Neglect" implies capable but failing to care for the core audience. I'd say Kinect can't appeal to the core audience.
I have a $1400 surround sound set-up so I'd go with linear PCM. That is a big difference compared to d digital.
Sony will ensure hardcore gaming. They have a lot of 1st party core games out now and in the pipeline. It truly is the system of choice for core gamers.
Which PSP, it could be a return of a PSP GO for PSP2000/3000 or a return of a 2000 for 3000. Or it could be the dreaded dead pixel....yep probably that.
Gameplay Looks a bit like COD meets Halo - much more COD though but cool in any case.
I'll buy it if it's good - F brand loyalty. You hear that fanboys!
Less cheating??? The games not even public yet.
I bet the new DMC will sell better than Enslaved - it has a recognizable name, although the new look may have alienated long term fans but could also bring in new ones.
Overall though, I don't think that genre of games is that popular anymore, or at least not like in the PS2 era - they're going to have to do something the make it really innovative - maybe like more of a 3PS view and a deep control scheme that's not a memory test.
I have it rented right now; it's a great rental but a poor buy.
@ Pirate Thom. It was a sequel in only in name only. I wouldn't even call it a spiritual successor as the games are entirely different. It would be like calling Halo Wars a sequel.
shipped...
But who cares how much Kinect sells, I can't imagine playing it for more than 15 minutes at a party, anymore than that would be lame, girls would take priority.
L4D2 was banned in Australia because it was deemed offensive to all the zombies (drunks) there. There's a patent similarity between the slow, lumbering drunk mumbling incoherently and zombies. The group for drunkee-rights controls the majority of parliament.
I wish for faster messaging, I shouldn't have to go though 6 steps to send a message and get back to the game. At least after I send it allow me to simply press the PS button to exit, not circle 3 times. Oh, and the instant I receive a message, allow me to click the PS button to go directly to it instead of having to go through 3 steps.
and speed up the whole process, when I'm in the middle of a MP match I don't want to needlessly waist time waiting for loadin...
Sales shmales, I'll buy one when they make AAA move specific games that take complete advantage of the hardware.
Killzone can not be judged by pictures, it's graphical beauty lies in post-processing effects - like most PS3 exclusives it has a certain "look" that gives it a CGI feel at times.
Poor Ninja Theory they can't do anything right in terms of business decisions. They complained HS didn't sell enough so they went multiplat but ironically HS2, with a little help from Sony's other first parties, would have sold like 2 mill and looked amazing. And they should have waited to release the game in 1st quarter 2011 or the dry summer months.
They built a brand name, then abandoned it and it cost them even more.
So sad but it's a bit of a Catch 22 - they can't risk spending tonnes of money on a new IP, but if not enough is spent the games are somewhat lacking - largely length/replay value - resulting in mediocre sales.
Red Dead was a new IP that sold really well but they spent 100 mill on it and the game has a tonne of replay value. Enslaved and Vanquish probably had budgets on the small side and won't sell that well.
I hope it's Move2 and Kinect2 - Move2 with an improved camera (like Kinect), and Kinect2 with wands (like Move). That way, 3rd parties can make quality multiplats.
And don't forget the game would be on 5 discs.
