the point is basically the Wii U did not have a great year, at least by Nintendo standards. This doesn't excuse Sony and Microsoft's crap though.
publisher of the year according to who? TGA? Their release schedule for the Wii U was abysmal.
Good article. Really highlights the highs and lows of Nintendo over the past two years and where it needs to go to be successful.
@Neonridr I agree and I think the last paragraph of the article sums it up.
So? If you actually read both stories, one is Zelda-focused, while the other is more Nintendo-focused. If I changed the title this wouldn't even be an issue. The TP HD "saving" it is an exaggeration and really the article is about the inconsistent release schedule on the Wii U, why it is in its current predicament, and then the fact that TP can help boost sales as everyone has wanted it. It's not meant to be the same article only reskinned.
I could't fit the whole article title in the title so I went with that.
The article isn't all about Zelda.
They got me at "we wouldn't have enough space for the entire game." That's bull. Honestly, with today's technology!? They are just trying to milk us. This is not a day one purchase for me anymore. I may not get it at all. Square has gone downhill since they became Square Enix.
Pathetic excuses. A 70 hour RPG is totally possible on blu ray discs, even if you have to split it into two.
sorry but multiple parts to tell what was a 2 disc game on the PS2? They are milking us for more $$$$. It's not truly episodic like Telltale games. This is absolute crap.
I could think of some words other than "disgusting" to describe this, but I'll refrain. Honestly, this is just a way to milk the series. If not one, they could EASILY fit the game on two dual-layered blu ray discs, but noooo, they have to make FF VII fans suffer more than they already are. This is total **** and honestly people need to call SE out and make them accountable.
They've gotten so bad since Squaresoft became Square Enix...
For the record: I know people who have not yet gotten a Wii U simply because they are waiting for Zelda U. Nintendo would be VERY smart to create a TP/Wii U bundle (amiibo included) once March rolls around, along with a $199 price drop. TP is the HD Zelda game that most people have wanted all along; I genuinely think it will sell really well. If TWW HD sold about 1.41 million copies, TP HD could sell more than half the sales of the original, which would be great for the West (it was a game...
I'm a huge Nintendo and Zelda fan. I own a Wii U. I reviewed Xenoblade Chronicles X and gave it a 10/10.
...yeah, I'm just trying to be negative here.
Look I love my Wii U. I reviewed Xenoblade Chronicles X and it is a masterpiece. I love the GamePad, although not always utilized, and I think Miiverse is brilliant. But the fact of the matter is that the Wii U has not been a commercial success. Thankfully Nintendo is still drowning in cash, but, either the Wii U needs to be reinvigorated (I do think this game could help sell systems potentially) or they just need to move on to the NX with a 2016 release. I also want them to keep the GamePa...
I can't wait for it; I'm just sad that Nintendo isn't really putting anything out for the Wii U between Xenoblade Chronicles X and TP HD. And the fact that everyone really wanted this game in HD from the start. :\ The Wii U is so close to being irrelevant.
years too late. this should have come out before TWW HD, as much as I love that game. TP was the game everyone wanted in HD and is the best selling Zelda game of all time.
I really want a large DLC packet instead of waiting for a sequel.
you say the game has major issues yet it gets a 9.5? It deserves the score, but the review is very inconsistent.
Honestly one of the best games I've played in 10 years.
Kimishima said they are still going to be putting out software for the Wii U until the NX launches and not abandon it.
