I would rather not see EA eat ANY more studios then they already have, they have never made a studio better then it was before the owner change.
In your logic, it makes it seem like you think that all developers should be working under one roof, and get paid minimum wage so that the publisher gets the bulk of the income, and one console with every game the same game, just with a different title, maybe some "innovation" every 4 or 5 years to spice things up.

Valve is quite innovative, but so is Take Two, so you see, if your argument is saying that you don't care about Take Two, but you care about Valve, you are being more then anything, hypocritical.
The industry does better with competition, not one publisher with all the card in hand to play solitaire as they please.
EA is a publisher, but you forget they push the developers to time constraints as well as less time for testing and money given to the developers.

Oh... this game is long been past the main stream.
Read it my self, it just said that PS2 discs that were able to be partly installed on the PS2 for network play (like FFXI) will be able to install to the PS3 like before.
It does not open a new feature to allow any PS2 or PS1 game to be downloaded to the harddrive, it is actually just a fix to a feature that should have run from the start.
Story was pushed with out reading, or having some one who knew at least some japanese (screw babel fish).

I agree with you, I'm overly dissatisfied by EA games this generation as a whole.
I found some things in this game that I liked, but god, why couldnt there be any boss fights, and what the hell was up with al quida stereo typing(also there research team didn't seem to know that its a sin to have tattoos, let alone on the forehead).
The game was mediocre at best, 6.5 for some technical aspects as well as trying to innovate a genre over played. STORY SUCKED BOLLOX
