Oh how the mighty have fallen. I look at Atlus and Tri-Ace now for quality RPG's.
@Walther~
I have a PS3 and a PC and I know for a fact that I will be getting Alan Wake, ME2 (if not on PS3) and gears 2...on the PC. You really don't need a 360 if you have a good computer...but I guess Live is still an incentive!
I'm not sure about the company...but I'm positive I remember that a major company has already found a way to layer a Blu-Ray up to 17 or 19 layers, effectively giving it a terabyte capacity while still being able to work in current players...Sorry DVD, you're on your way out still, lol!
But now that that man hole is open I can dive right in, lol!!!
Yes the hammer has changed very little, but that is because its intended function was perfected and thus no change is needed. But you have to look at the fact that there are jobs that a "simple" hammer will not do...like building a skyscraper. Yes it's along the same lines of construction, but the technology has needed to increase to achieve bigger and better things. The computer is unlike the hammer in that the need for a bigger and better one will never be fulfilled, thus we w...
Another fellow neo-luddite!!!!!
...At Matt...Touchette! That really is a valid point, though that devolution was wrought by war, bad economics, and ignorance rather than a limit in technology. I guess I should have phrased it as "technology in and of itself ever increases when free of outside influences". I mean I think we can both agree that we would have fusion power by now if only there was enough money being thrown at it!
I'm getting disagrees for being affable and optimistic...maybe I should just be a hater like everyone else...You guys are funny!
...But rather the way of things. Technology has always improved at an ever increasing rate. It has for thousands of years. Look at the life of a 16th century European and you can see that their life was pretty much the same when they died than when they were born...no real changes (and that's pretty much what was expected). Fast forward to now and our lives fundamentally change every few decades or so. Look at the past 20...internet, wireless information technologies...medical advances.....
Video games don't kill people...wars kill people.
This guy is still talking?!?!
How about "make a game or shut up!"
...no matter what happens! With the return of the "big" E3 like we used to, I'm sure there will be plenty of good surprises for everyone and every gamer!!!
This game, like the 4 previous installments, has a great story. I think that most people bought this game to continue the story of Umbrella and the original STARS members, not worry about verses and MP. To me this is like saying, "Hey, you want to pay around $6 for the ability to play FF7 multiplayer?" I think I'll pass!
@n0w0mann0cry
I think the guy above you meant a game with the same capabilities as Killzone 2. I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to actually think that he literally meant MS publishing a version of K2!!!
Tell me if I'm wrong!
What I think is really funny is that all of these people say that this game can be done on the 360 or that game can be done on the 360. Regardless of whether or not they could be done you don't hear the PS3 developers saying that a high end 360 game could be done on the PS3. This is because there are so many games that Sony puts on their system that question the ability of the 360 that MS PR people feel that they have to do damage control by saying that there system is on par with Sony's. ...
how about everyone just finds an old 60GB PS3 that is hardware emulated. I Still buy new PS2 games for my PS3.
FF13 to utilize 100% of Wii's power...There fight over this one now!!!!!!! lol
Seriously...Why is it that whenever somebody has an "announcement" it mysteriously turns into a "huge announcement". Face it...the truth isn't that Sony let people down by not giving a major PS3 announcement, but rather that everybody assumed that this would be of the "sky is falling" caliber. How about this idea...next time, don't get excited until you actually know what the "big" news will be about!!!
I hear everyone complaining about the CONTROLS in RE5, but how is the STORY...I've been thinking about getting it and oddly enough havent heard about what is probably the key point of Resident Evil!
But I seriously doubt the ability to make 1000 layers on a DVD using the current wavelength on a DVD laser. Honestly for this to happen, there would probably have to be incorporation of a new laser, which would defeat the purpose of existing DVD players...Though I will say that it would still be well worth it (if true) to buy a new DVD format!!
