I've been enjoying Infamous 2, it's a good idea because I wouldn't have bought that because I thought the first one was ok but not great.
Now I might buy number 3 if there is going to be one.
One factor is probably the time between releases, iOS games that succeed are like fads and if you miss the window that they're relevant for no one cares after they're over.
I've bought quite a few games on Android since I caved and bought a Nexus 7.
If any developers come here, add native controller support for everything that's not designed to be touch only and I'll be more likely to buy your games, see my purchase history as proof.
I don't really see how the Ps1 era isn't up to par with the Snes era yet all 6 games follow a pretty much identical formula in general pacing and share a lot of the gameplay, character development systems and plot devices.
It's hypocrisy. The whole Snes / Ps1 era was fantastic.
So it will be out in 2016 and be cack? /s :P
I completed both, although I really didn't need to to discover they're were pretty meh :)
edit: Actually I lie I don't think I finished XII-2 but must have been near the end as it was all heading towards the finale I was somewhere after the bit with all the re-arraging platforms in from memory in the future where you have hope helping with a fleet of airships.
edit2: If you say that's where it starts to get good I'll slap you with my mind...
They're not exactly great games either though... The negativity is a bit exaggerated because people expected better than average/good games from the brand.
The brand name *used* to be synonymous with the highest quality Jrpgs with excellent production values. Where as now they just have great production values and mediocre game design.
Looks really fun!
I agree they probably will still mostly push for 30fps with the odd exception and 30fps is fine for a lot of stuff.
And again I agree next gen would probably look pretty similar overall to this gen if it were all 60fps 1080p.
(I replied to this one again because I couldn't reply to your new comment :) )
LOL :D
Lag, take Wipeout HD as an extreme example the handling feels notably less responsive in split screen mode when it's doing 30fps same deal on Wipeout 2048 on the Vita.
Not all games need 60fps, but racers, fighters and ideally shooters benefit a lot from it.
All the footage so far is blatantly from PC.
Look at GTAIV, Red Dead and LA Noire on consoles and they don't even always run at a very steady frame rates as it is!
It's delusional to think that it will look that good on current consoles.
Looks legit but it's damn ugly from the top, nice profile view though. I remember thinking the first slim looked ugly when it was leaked but I like the look of it now.
I wish they'd stopped putting the usb ports under an over-hang it's really annoying!
I'd personally prefer a more premium model than a cheaper one- stick the PS2 chips back in now the PS3 is cheaper to make!
I hope it's like the weird and wonderful days of Net Yaroze.
Here you go, have some sticks and shoulder buttons. Works with everything I've tried.

My Vita get's lots of love.
The PSP section of the store is a gold mine of great games for cheap- there's plenty enough to get through while you wait for more propper Vita games and/or remote play. FFIV Complete is *gorgeous*.
I do play games on Android too for quickness like Cut the Rope and the odd bit of Max Payne or Shadowgun (with dual shock controls)- but frankly it's just not as good an experience as the Vita offers and eats too much batte...
I thought the whole point of the Vita is to give you a better gaming experience than what's possible on a smartphone.
Vita doesn't need Angry Birds it's got far better small games already like Super Stardust Delta!
*drools*
I think he's spot on with some of them.
I really enjoyed the Uncharted series, but I think it's pretty well spent now- I think they lose their magic after the first play through because of how heavily scripted all the events are.
Once Uncharted 2's blown your mind, it can't blow it again as I think Uncharted 3 proves (although the 3d is great).
Try this, works a treat:

You can set it up to work great with touch only games like Nova 3 and Max Payne Mobile.
Awesome!
