That's the only reason why I also haven't picked up a 3DS. Region free, immediate buy!
So much potential, but unfortunately it's up to 3rd party developers to help the console flourish. Nintendo's first party titles are good and all, but if they want to see the same kind of sales like the Wii, they need heavy 3rd party titles and support for the system.
Until then, I am fearing that it might go the same way as the gamecube.
Stop talking nonsense, Japanese trends have long changed. Just because it's Japanese doesn't mean they will buy it over another countries products.
Apple and Samsung have proven that!
How do I know, I have been living in Tokyo for a number of years and seen Japanese trends change quite a bit.
They chose the PS4 because Japanese gamers, like most others who saw Sony's conference and unveiling believed in the product, features and ...
Call it whining or whatever, but there are valid points to be made about region locking.
I think you are looking at things rather short sighted. It's not just about some Japanese voice overs. Believe it or not some people have to work and live in more than one country, so having to buy two 3DSs to play in 2 regions is extremely backwards.
Also having no region restrictions can help garner the attention of certain games that would never in the first case g...
Wow, this is edge. They are usually very well balanced, so that cover story is very interesting indeed.
May the power of the cloud be with you.
If MS or any company for that matter needs to clarify a pervious statement then don't say anything at all, or leave it to someone who will say something that doesn't need clarifying, especially after the mess they have caused themselves.
@haloking,
Oh good for you, pity you couldn't find the time to actually construct a proper sentence. Then again lying about being number 4 in the world must mean so much to you! Congratulations on your non-achievment.
They didn't downplay anything , the moron that is Albert Penello should of just kept quite if he can't even be honest about a simple question. His comments made a mess, saying spec means nothing. If you can't find fault with that then you might as well never upgrade and just keep chugging along with an Atari2600, because guess what, spec doesn't matter according to Albert!!
Don't be stupid iBleed, with a laptop camera you have direct control over the PCs OS, you can disable the camera completely it's not mandatory. Same with my android based phone, nothing with those hardware features are mandatory, big difference!
If you can't notice your phone or PC camera recording or snapping photos of you then more fool you. The big flashing light is a dead give away that its recording.
Even with third party controllers, no. Most of it's games will be too gimmicky, and the amount of shovelware is enough for it to not be taken seriously. The amount of rubbish titles far outweigh the quality ones. Smartphones and tablets are bought primarily as communication devices, not gaming devices.
@Virus, kinect is good on paper, just like most other motion gimmicks, the fact that there hasn't been much good games for it, shows it should be optional rather than mandatory. Then again I don't care about motion gaming on any platform.
DX11.2 sounds good, but excluding a massive chuck of your PC audience is a douche move on MS, and it's neither a loss to other platforms who won't be able to use it, there are quite a few graphic APIs around being used beside...
In terms with what experienced developers can do with limited hardware yes, but with so much potential with updated hardware I would mostly say no it can't wait much longer.
An overly long cycle in console gaming holds back PC gaming, so now having the PS4 and Xbox One running more in line with PC architecture can only be a good thing as we should be seeing a much better fidelity in titles, and not too many shoddy ports.
Nothing wrong with a price cut. The 3DS was initially over priced, hence the slow sales, but once that price cut came into effect, it's been nothing by good news for the 3DS and glad for it.
I just wish the console was region-free, living and working between the UK and Japan is annoying enough, I don't want to buy 2 different region systems.
@Kurylo3d
Regardless of it being $600, it's still more expensive. Console gaming is cost effective gaming, period. PCs will always have the edge because its upgradable.
Although $600 for a gaming PC is not too bad, but try running Metro Last light on max settings on a $600 PC, it can't be done. There are pros and cons to both sides.
Tried the beta a few months ago. It was super fun, will pick it up eventually, just too much of a backlog of games at the moment
"The Board goes on to explain that the weapon can be used on innocent civilian bystanders as well as enemy characters - and that neither attack is sufficiently justified by context.
Does the board also know that it's a video game and none of the characters are real human beings! Board of fools!
I really want to sit in on a meeting with the board discussing what can or can't be deemed appropriate for these guys, it should be rather humorous.
You sir have absolutely no clue what you're talking about!
"Xbox u can play any game for free with Xbox gold", What?!?!?
If it's a retail game that you paid for with an online component, the you will need a PSN+ subscription to access the online portion of the game.
If it's just a free to play game, just like MysticStrummer mentioned then no, you will not require a PSN+ subscription.
Ubisoft is probably the biggest support of the Wii U from 3rd party developers, it would be nice to see others major developers on it.
I am glad to see titles like you mentioned making to the console, but like you said undoubtedly most people will choose those titles on other systems. Because they are not really systems sellers as most gamers will probably already have a PS3 or 360.
If the Wii U can get more killer titles like Bayonetta 2, then it should mak...
