This request makes more sense for nintendo as their franchises do not push any boundaries yet will have to keep up with PS4 and 720 multi platform games. However Naughty dog has the power and leverage to make such a request from Sony due to a guaranteed return in investment, with console sales just as Epic did early in this generation with MS.
The 360 has the ram it does because of gears or war. Cliffy talked MS into e-dram. This is a bit different though, the Gear of War franchise is exclusive to MS platforms(hardware/OS game software) Devs must be pretty confident in the engine's predicted success to ask such a thing as a multi platform company without offering games showing its worth or potential on new hardware.

I said in another article Nintendo seems to be doing a kind of damage control constantly talking about the competition's new hardware especially MS's 720. Nintendo possibly knows vague details of the 720 due to the chip market, might be using the same hardware maker etc. The public talk of the 720 is concern of the mind and marketshare of next gen not to mention the possible knowledge of far better hardware.

I disagreed because the docs said the 720 would be 6-8 times more powerful than 360. Pro Sony camp lowered the range so they can say what you are. Did you not know about leaked PS4 specs? Not even as big of deal as the claim you provided for the 720.
Agreed the 360 was symbolic, meaning a complete turnaround or reinvention of the brand. The Numbers themselves have no meaning. It's just a generic doubling of the number indicating a successor. I had a friend that was doing all the wrong things in life and did a 360 (degree) turn his life around.
