with the wii, they knew exactly what they were doing even if it seemed weird to us at first. That console ended up doing very well, and probably helped with the disappointing sales fromt eh gamecube era. This time around, I can't help but feel that Nintendo isn't ready. It was shown in their presentation. I don't mind waiting another year for them to perfect it, but I truly hope they aren't jumping the gun and releasing something too fast just for the sake of releasing it....
Well I never said the wii u was horrible. I am just worried that the way they are handling it, might lead to their first complete failure. I was hoping I could preorder one after e3 since it is coming out so soon. We are what? 5 months from release?! The presentation they gave was as if the console were being released 9 months to a year from now! The conference was very disappointing. Not disappointed with the wii u, of course how can I be disappointed with a console that we still know...
I just felt like there are more questions than answers this E3. I know they were or are pushing for a holiday 2012 release, but I bet that it won't come out at least until 2013. It is obvious they are not ready. They demonstrated this by not giving us basic answers, and not demonstrating it during the conference. If they were ready, we would have a launch date, and at LEAST a price point! I hope Alien Colonial Marines is a launch title. I will pick that up and Mario. The Mario game...
I can beat this game in 15 minutes. Is that what the new generation is "difficult"? Give me a break! They are just used to games where you can save after every level, and whip right through it like you are invincible. I grew up with an NES, and we had to actually practice to be "good" at the games to beat them. We didn't have the internet to google cheats and glitches, we had to figure them out for ourselves through trial and error. I just can't make sense of...
And put it this way, if Nintendo originally priced the 3ds at $249, then there is no way they would price an entire console at the same price. $349 sounds about right. I do however hope it ends up being $300... but I still find $349 to be reasonable.
ALl of Nintendo's consoles have sold for 200-250 dollars at launch. Taken into account, if the NES sold for 200 US dollars in 1986, that is just shy of around $400 today. If this is the correct price of the wiiU, the wiiU is technically cheaper at launch than the NES launch prices in today's dollars.
I really hope that it is not less powerful than the ps3 or the 360. And for those complaining about Nintendo being a gimmick, they have ALWAYS been a gimmick, so what is new! They do it right though, and I love them for it!
I can't wait to see what they do with the network. I think they are indeed trying to appease to both the core gamer AND the casual family-oriented gamer, which is welcome in my house, because I love to play my more serious games, and I have a 4 year old who loves everything mario kart. So this way, I only need one console next generation. Currently I own a 360 and a wii. Now I can have the best of both worlds in one console!
I hope they add elements from Super Mario Bros 2 in it. In fact, we need a new villian, so bring back Wart! Bowser is starting to get old, and he dies the same way in every game. I am sorry, but Mario 3D land was boring when it came to bowser. He died the old fashioned way like in Super Mario Bros. Why would he design switches in his castle to destroy bridges?!?!?! kinda late in the game for it, but ok. They never actually had a code name for the wii u, so I guess they could jsut say it was the code name until the real name was revealed. Wii was supposed to be revolution and got changed to wii. I personally think they should keep the wii moniker... its like nintendo's version of the i-this and i-that. The public will get it eventually!
The 3DS has sold really well, especially the last few weeks of Christmas. The $80 price drop from $249.99 to $169.99 was HUGE. It also didn't help that I happened to score 2 3DS consoles, one being the Zelda bundle, for around $140 bucks total for both! I paid about $70 per 3DS due to black friday deals, and trade extra trade in credits. I doubt that affects Nintendo at all since that was a retailer promotion though. The 3DS will sell well now, it just didn't sell well in the beg...
Not to mention, it was impossible to find a copy of Super Mario 3D land about a week before Christmas and now almost a month after Christmas it is still hard. I checked my gamestop and Target every day, and just picked one up a few days ago at my gamestop who just happened to have exactly 1 copy.
Birdo was definitely a male in Super Mario Bros. 2, which seems pretty definite of an answer to me. Also, birdo was introduced in Super Mario Bros. 2, and therefore was established as a male first. If Birdo is labeled as a female in more recent games, it is only because Birdo got the operation and is now legally a female. Birdo is a post-op transsexual bottomline!

That would be so cool. SO what if they released a box set of all the Zelda games up through windwaker? That would be the best! My idea for a windwaker port? A Harder version that you speak of with the option to skip the boring sailing parts (or at least make the ocean smaller and the islands closer together, so I can sail AND still enjoy the game. That is the one thing I HATED about windwaker the most besides the stupid cartoon graphics, but I can get past that.
Maybe a compilation of Zelda games released on the wii similar to the release of Super Mario All-Stars? Lets hope this release is done better though. Super mario all stars should have been not just a direct port of the SNES All-stars game. It should have included Both versions of each game (classic graphics, and the SNES updated graphics), it should have included Super Mario World 1 AND 2, should have also included Super Mario 64 perhaps even the updated version from the DS port which allo...

I just looked and the scorpion code is going for 20+ bucks. I am going to put mine on ebay. I can wait until they release them as DLC which they eventually will. Sorry to be an "A-hole", but if people are stupid enough to buy, then at least I am smart enough to sell it!
