I think it is the price. The system was priced way too high, just like the 3DS was at launch. If they lower the price, I am sure the sales will rise... just like the 3DS. Heck, if they dropped the price by $50, I would buy one today!
That is an amazing deal!!! You could get a great game or maybe even two, and still barely pay retail price. If I didnt already own one, I would definitely pick one up.
There is no reason to defend this! Without any type of internet connection whatsoever, it is a horrible move by Nintendo. There is nothing smart about it! They already dropped support for wii games, meaning that they will not be selling them in stores soon. Gamestop will eventually stop selling the used ones just like they did with the used gamecube games. This is a sad pathetic attempt to milk a few bucks. This could have been a nice way to get netflix in my bedroom... but its not, so...
More like overshadowed by its own suckiness! The thing has no internet connectivity whatsoever. This means you cant access some of the best features of the wii, like the shop channels, the virtual console, downloadable content, netflix, etc... All this can do is play wii games. That is it! Well maybe if this were 1992 it would be acceptable, but this is 2012! 20 years later and this can do exactly what my Super NES can do... play games. Wow!
I can't believe they didnt at least include an ethernet port for people to get updates. When I first heard of this I thought it was an April Fool's joke, but then I realized that it is December. HAHA!
Rip off! Cant even download games fromt he wii shop channel! Ridiculous!
They should include a reprint of the very first issue with the final issue. That would be epic
yea, so they can sell make $50-$100 dollars more. Lets face it, memory is cheap. Notice how basic consoles have significantly lower HDD space? Like the xbox 360... basic is 4 GB, but for $100 more you get a whopping 250 GB of storage? The amount of storage space in each console doesn't cost them that much more to produce, but it sure lets them charge an extra $50 or $100 bucks per console just by making the "basic" seem like a rip off. Same thing with the wii u... a paltr...
Well technically I was expecting to pay around $300. 250 for the console, and 50 for a game. However, now that number rises to 350-400. I still have to buy a game regardless. The price they settled on is too high for what they are offering. They priced the wii at a good price. I bought one as soon as I could find one after launch, and paid $300 bucks for the wii and Zelda Twilight Princess. At the time TP was brand new, and that was a good deal! Especially everything the wii came with...
But what if I want to be one of 100 million wii owners who wants to move their console to the bedroom while putting the new wii u in the living room? Then I have to buy a new sensor bar? That logic seems like they want my wii to become a paper weight. Am I just to render it useless? haha
I don't like the price. Was going to order one at $249, but not now that it is $300.... I still ahve to buy a game for it!
Zelda II, and Majora's mask are the only two Zelda games I have never completed. I found them both to be similar in the sense that they are far different than the traditional Zelda formula. And this could be the reason why I found both games rather difficult. It is not a bad game by any means, however it jsut never felt like "Zelda" to me.
If true, its way to much. The is close to 350 us dollars! Sorry, not going to pay anything over $249 for a Nintendo Console ever!
The article said that because November 11th is a Sunday, that it makes this rumor even more unlikely. However, nintendo ALWAYS release their new stuff on Sundays! Article was even more far fetched than this rumor is sounding!
Great video!
Exactly! If the games were cheaper, that might be an incentive for me to buy digital. But they cost the same! How do they even justify charging the same? They have no packaging or shipping costs to worry about. I was thinking about buying New Super Mario Bros 2 on the eshop the other day, until I realized it was the same exact price! And then I thought about it, and figured it would take up a lot of memory, plus I couldnt let a friend borrow it, or play it on another 3DS. So I basicall...
Sad, but I have to say that the service sucks really bad now! I have a subscription since February, and I have had to report missing issues 4 times! Usually they just say they will extend your subscription, so mine is now extended to like June of 2013 instead of February 2013. But what bothers me the most is the frequency that it has happened. I have received Nintendo Power on and off throughout the past 24 years, and have NEVER had this problem. Also, they no longer offer any incentives for ...

I prefer the physical copy for the fact that I can take the game with me and use it on any 3ds, even let a friend borrow it. I am not restricted as I am with a download. Downloadable content is fine with the classic games in the virtual console, or games that are created for the 3ds shop. However, as far as actual games go, I don't see a point.
The problem is that they are charging the same price! Why should I buy it digitally and restrict myself to the one 3DS unit if ...
If games become $70, that is when I stop buying games! I dont care what the game is, NO game is worth $70!
