When people compare the wiiu to the ps3/ 360 you really only make the point that it is not a next gen console. And then further say it won't compete with Xbox1 or ps4 basically confirms the it is not next gen comments.

Need no really want yes. Plenty of great games coming still to this gen. That's why I will be keeping my ps3, but will get a ps4 day 1, it is already paid for. With both previous systems doing so poorly this just makes sense why send something that you have limited quantities of somewhere it won't sell, when you could send more to places it will.
I agree, ps3 just seems to keep gaining momentum, and if they support like they did the ps2 who knows maybe they can catch Wii.

As far as the sales numbers for the consoles I wonder how many of those are from people who bought multiple systems. I had 2 360 and 2 ps, broke my heart when my 60GB backwards compatible ps3 broke.

Die hard fans of either will buy what they love the casual consumer will opt for the cheaper console. Ms and their fans seem to think people will pay big money to have some somewhat interesting television or sports features. Most likely you will get the standard warranty from the company of 30 days. So I suggest buying an exstended warranty from the store you get it at if available. That way if/ when it breaks you might be able to go to the store and get a new one. But it will really suck if you have to send it off to get replaced because that might take weeks. Weeks of no gaming. Terrible
Specs matter, if they didn't then none of the big 3 would but the time and effort and money into developing better more powerful consoles. The ps4 is also easier to develop for than the ps3 was.
But the ps3 was the most powerful system last time and when devs knew how to use all the tools it showed.

Most if not everything on this list is crap. And can be answered like this the ps4 is not a pc.
You have a ps3 if you have ps3 games.
And sony or ms shouldn't focus on 4k until it actually becomes more widely used by people, since most people don't currently own a 4k television to display it on and won't until the price comes down. ThAn it is just a matter of a software update not unlike the way sony did to turn the ps3 into a 3d bluray player.

The answer is it can't. MS has been last in sales every gen. The 360 was cheaper and Had a year long head start and still ended up last.
More exclusives will be on ps4 over the whole life span of the console. The DS 4 is improved over the DS3. People will not pay 500 $ for the sports and tv features of the Xbox1

Every one seems to forget that ms took the drm out so no mandatory internet connection. Which means not all of the Xbox1 will be connected to the internet do they will not have the cloud which a lot of Xbox1 games need stated repeatedly by ms " only with the power of the cloud" so what about those people will their games work at all or will they just be not as good?
