I hope this is good because a new space 3rd person rpg would be very much welcome since Bioware no longer have a clue what to do with the Mass Effect IP.
I have been on this website for 13 years and there has not been any anger from the vast majority of Xbox fans in regards to games coming to PC. If any, it is the PS camp that have tried to downplay it as a terrible thing because now, they will all play the games on their super high-end PC's they claim to have, negating the need to own an Xbox.
"They can't make good games or studios, they can only buy them to keep them off other consoles they've always been on"
So, no different from Sony right?
And reading what Todd Howard of Bethesda is saying, if not for Microsoft support dating back to Morrowind, they would not have had thr success they have today.
Anyway, this is just business. There is no industry that major acquisitions don't happen. Gaming is no ...
These recent acquisitions and with this one in particular proves that the Xbox divisions pockets are not limited to that of Microsoft Games studios but by that of the entire Microsoft cooperation. Nice play Microsoft. I sure as hell did not see this coming.
It is business.
What did I just read? Some of you really need to step away from gaming for a while and especially the console wars.
You are absolutely right regarding the steering.
I am a huge car guy but i think the sim sector needs a real shake up. It just seems a bit bland to me at the moment. . Personally, i would like to see some of the business aspect of motorsport be introduced into the game in the form of team ownership. SOme games have done it like Vrally but it was very shallow.
Get a team, move into a terrible warehouse at first, start hiring engineers which would be impro...
Was thinking the exact same thing.
Subscription is the answer. The same way Netflix is able to crank out series and movies after movies with out it hitting the cinemas and not filling the pinch.
Game Pass has been the best thing to happen to Xbox gaming divisions bottom line the past decade. Their subscription numbers are rising and even best, Xbox live ultimate subscription.
Also, since you are technically not paying for the game, you are most likely to try out new games you never would ...
Then they should emulate their movie studios model whereby movies are released in cinema and after a few months, they are available on VOD or Disk.
Sony can release their first party games and after three to six months, release it on PS Now. But having four year old IPs like Uncharted 4 and the rest not available on PS Now does more harm than good to the service.
No I am not "bummed". I already own the box so why should I be angry? That's like buying a phone and be angry that a new version comes out the following year. Smh
As much as I would like this to happen, I seriously doubt that Microsoft will make online free. I hope I am wrong.
What could happen is that they merge it with Game Pass? So for your money, you get online play, game pass and xcloud.
That would be genius. But I still doubt it.
Personally, the best part is that they have support right from Satya Nadella.
The guy that leaked this day almost two weeks ago said that Microsoft has acquired The astronauts game studio. He also said that they have formed a new Japanese studio with Lost Odyssey remake to be announced as their first game on the 23rd.
Take this with a grain of salt. But he got the date right.
How will the series S hold back the series X if it has the same SSD, RDNA 2.0 architecture but simply just scaled down?
If it is, then there is nothing the X can do that the S cant do even if it half or less than half the power. In fact, it would run games that the X one X cant run because of its older HDD and GCN 2.0 architecture.
Just like how many on here said last gen said that they would never pay to play games online out of "principal". There were articles posted weekly on n4g about how wrong it was that microsoft charged for xbox live. People even said that the day they have to pay to play multiplayer onlije would be the day they quit gaming. That stance quickly changed in 2013 lol
"MS did say they won't charge for upgrade versions, so will this count? Or is it a bit of a smoke and mirrors promise?"
When did Microsoft develop or publish Kingdoms of Alamur? SMH
Then when a 1st party game is released and it was obviously gimped by the base hardware, then we can debate that.
But as of today and as for this article, it's premise is on last week's event which is pretty stupid.
The article is 100% based on the event showcase which was a third party event.
Possible. But I am losing faith in Bioware.
