That's essentially what it was, except you'd buy exercise videos / programs to use. Buying those videos would net you the ability to use them at will - but not offline. So, it's like a Netflix-style program, but instead of paying a subscription, you'd have unlimited access to the package you purchased.

Until they cut off access, that is.

No, a lot of the content was the variety you paid for. If you read the story, you'd see that there's a link to the official announcement and multiple quotes from actual users that are not getting to keep what they paid money for.

I'd like you to cite your sources on that, because when I made a search for anything involving the shutdown of Xbox Fitness from 1/1/2015 to 6/1/2016, the only thing that shows up are pages from news aggregate sites that link to the current story. I've clicked a lot of them, and that's all that seems to come up.

I'd gladly write a correction if it means being factually accurate. So, please, cite your sources and I'll get right on that.

If they do, it will be at SIGNIFICANT cost, since both of those properties are owned - in their entirety, save for a few of Marvel's movie rights - by Disney.

Well, the Disney Infinity game was developed in-house by Avalanche Software, which was under direct ownership of Disney Interactive. They don't have to worry about licenses, since they own all the IP in use. They didn't use outside publishers or developers to create the game, and I doubt very highly that they contracted outside help to manufacture the figures, either - they were likely made in factories with some direct level of Disney ownership, and thus quality control.

You'd think so, but all of that incurs production costs, and you're relying on the same customer base to constantly upgrade / augment preexisting collections. It does give the product longer legs, but the sandbox itself has constraints that longer legs show the limitations of.

They can be used to save game data and unlock specific material in other games. This gives them other sources of use that other TTL products do not possess. You're welcome.

"Yeah, he beats me, but he loves me, I just know it."

That's the logic on display here.

Thank you. I want to love the game, as it's one of my favorite franchises. There's just not enough there to justify purchase, and although the game itself is solid, there's so little actual content that I would not be surprised if some customers felt outright cheated.

You're their target market, then. Pick up a copy and enjoy.

I loved T2: Seeds of Evil and Rage Wars.

"I don't feel that it would be fair to the developers to stomp all over their work because the game isn't modern enough to find a semi-permanent home in my rotation, and as such, that fact won't count against my assessment of it. If you're a hardcore retro enthusiast or someone looking to relive the good old days, give it a shot.

Otherwise, caveat emptor."

I graded it on what it was, and unfortunately, bias and experience can be cons...

While I agree that you need to look at the game as an N64 title in order to keep it in proper context, it's been rereleased as a remastered version, when that remastering entails nothing but better lighting on the same low-poly models, enhanced resolution so you can upscale how far we've come since the original game, and the elimination of the only piece of actual atmosphere the game had - and required - in order to be fun or challenging.

Only the third is a toggle op...

Which is strange, considering that the DK2 still runs all current Oculus software, requires less connections, and ran fine on a standard Dell laptop. I get the feeling that the system specs were there because they had to justify selling it to people who could afford that kind of machine, but of course, I can't prove that. It's just a feeling.

While I will certainly agree with the point of people living to buy new stuff, early adopters with cash to burn only last so long. The PS3 did the same thing — hot initial sales, then ground to so much of a halt that people were worried about Sony's viability as a company. Granted, it wasn't the only reason for their financial problems, but the development of the system and the low sales definitely helped that in a major way.

In fact, it couldn't catch up to the X...

It's obvious that you didn't read the article. Thanks.

"Some would argue that we already spend more than that on other devices, such as smartphones and tablets. While that may be true, many of these products are not purchased at full retail cost, as they are normally sold to consumers by way of carrier-based retail outlets. They exchange a service agreement of some kind for subsidizing the cost of the device over a period of time, which are reflected in the month...

I've worked with the dev kits for over a year. It's great. Problem is, those dev kits didn't require as much from the machine, and we're half as expensive.

$300 is doable for people. $600 is rent / mortgage / car repair for 90% of industry customers.
