You own a Wii but you say that about people who buy Wii music? You must be an industry insider with an advanced copy of the final product for you to make such a statement. Either that or you are some kind of elitist gamer who always believes their opinion is always right.
Get a life. Lots of people will find this game fun. Enjoy whatever you purchase and let go of the hate- you'll feel better about yourself when you let go of your insecurities. Oh, and if you must troll, f...
I really don't get the Wii haters. How does this demographic affect the alleged "hardcore gamers?" Assuming that owning a 360 or PS3 is a prerequisite for being "hardcore," I would think that anything happening in the world of Wii would either be of no concern, or would stand to benefit the hardcore crowd. You still get your "AAA" super-deluxe, extended dance mix, multi-billion dollar production cost game of the millenium, and hey, maybe the Wii innovation ind...
I used to be a Madden zombie- bought it every year since '92. The streak ended last year as it really seemed as if EA had taken the year off. I was thinking if I didn't buy it, I'm sure there are loads of people that actually THINK about their purchases (as opposed to blindly plunking dollars down like me) who also left it on the shelf. Hopefully EA got the message. I've got a feeling it will be worthwhile this year.
You beat me to it on the spelling. But I did find one more for this guy: "ludacris" should be "ludicrous." Unless he's a big fan of the rapper, of course.
360deg- you can't expect people to take you seriously if you go cuckoo for cocoa puffs for Sony's gaffe (2.40) while commending MS on a relatively larger (MUCH larger) problem with the RROD. Your use of the word "rare" when describing MS mistakes as well as your praise for their response to th...
By definition, the universe of “Hardcore gamers” is smaller than the universe of “Casual gamers.” Nintendo’s game plan of going after the larger market is just plain smart in terms of a business strategy. Calling it “shunned” is hyperbole. Does Saturn “shun” the performance vehicle market by not making sleek a 5000 horsepower rocket? Nope, they’re just going after a different and oh-by-the-way, larger target market. Any hardcore gamers who buy a Wii just adds gravy to the feast for Ninte...
I'm still a videogame addict but gaming really was a lot more fun and enjoyable when we weren't arguing about who has better frame rates, exclusives, who made a dumb PR move, etc. It was just about the games, regardless of system. "Gaming without prejudice" if you will...
I am in the process of moving. Took my PS3 to the new house to provide entertainment and pass the time until the rest of my household goods arrive. I don't have internet service up yet and have been out of the loop for a couple weeks on gaming news. So all I have are my games (no online, of course), Blu-rays and a 1080i TV. Let me tell you, it's been nice to be "disconnected" from the online gaming world including online gaming, news sites, and most especially fanboys. I have b...
when the NBA Finals begin. Lakers vs. Celtics, a classic matchup that should appeal to all ages and even the casual fan. Would not surprise me to see MGS4, WiiFit, and Ninja Gaiden II ads.
It's a game based on a movie, which we all know usually turns out to suck. Red Hulk, Schmred Hulk, all versions will most likely be "Brown Hulk" as in turd brown.
1) The industry actually needs saving
2) The Wii decided it would need to be the designated savior
Oh, neither of the above are true? Then I guess this article was unnecessary. Since the author likes making lists so much perhaps he can make one about what Nintendo can do with all the cash they're raking in. He could go on for DAYS.
You might be right about all the technical aspects of the machine, but you are forgetting basic economics. People are not only willing to pay for this so-called "poor" console as you call it, they are willing to stand in line, scour their stores, camp out, and pay the price in DROVES.
A 3x2 inch piece of cardboard may cost about 1 cent to make. Slap a rookie picture of Mickey Mantle on it, and now it's worth thousands.
Their strategy could involve introducing this at a lower overall package price than Rock Band. However, Harmonix/MTV could counter with their own Rock Band price cut.
They should move on to something else or just enhance what they already have.
Here's another way to characterize the 360/PS3 and Wii markets:
360/PS3 is for the loser, no girlfriend, pasty-looking couch potato who would rather play video games than hit the beach or make actual, physical friends (not ones they meet online).
Wii is for the person whose life does not revolve around video games, and does not have the time to play "hardcore games" because they are too busy having great sex with their spouse/partner, taking trips to It...
The 360 may well "win" the console war, but this article doesn't convince. I have issues with two of his statements:
1. (for the PS3) "There was also some concern in the media and from customers about the lack of titles available at launch. The way I see it, those problems are still present."
I think even the most staunch 360 supporter will admit that the PS3 software base is getting a lot better. The games today are of better quality than what was ...
What about WiiFit? I understand its standing as a "game" is debatable, but with the huge Wii install base worldwide and the fact that pre-orders appear to be selling out everywhere, it definitely has the potential to get close. Wii owners suffer with the abundance of shovelware out there, so I'm guessing they'll jump on something that they're pretty confident is going to be good.
going outside, and actually meeting a girl might do the same.

I can take or leave quality of the demo, but having the opportunity to send the Patriots into oblivion over and over again? Priceless.
Sorry, just had to...

Let me wish you a legitimate "happy gaming!"
Have fun (and bubbles for you, too)!

The pickins are slim for Wii storage right now, with WiiWare coming out, a solution needs to be found.
