First i plan on dabbling in character creation until I make a character resembling me. Then after the initial opening segment I plan on just taking it all in.
Hopefully I can get a house fairly quick so I can have a BoO (base of operation).

I used to ask a couple of my friends why do you get madden every single year when they don't improve anything. What they change a couple of names and tweak a new mode and Bam!! $60 dollars on the table.
But this is worse. If this guy is right you're paying for the game, paying to play online and paying for the DLC and I promise they are going to have "UPDATED" maps from the previous game...and their only going...

On that note I don't know if were going to deep into what a review is supposed to be. Should it really be all encompassing or is it just a simple standard to give a generalized view of how the game will feel to most players.
I think on most if not all games there should be a secondary review. Certainly on higher profile...
I was waiting for some one to bring this up. I'm curious to know how much he played. I remember an debate a couple months back about some game and how if you didn't play the whole game through then you shouldn't be allowed to review it.
I posed this very question. When dealing with a very big game ala Skyrim when is it okay to review the game.

You know. I really hope rock star does something a bit more fun with GT. That being said after playing the second one and realizing that it gets a bit old doing the same thing I can't bring myself to play anymore of the franchise.
Not in any form am I saying its a bad game, just that for me something is missing.
I didn't like oblivion to much either. Loved morrowind though. My Sergeant and I would each mark our maps and he would tell me the locations of certain caves and loot and vice versa.
I was so into morrowind that i decoded the language. I'm sure it could be easily done by anyone but at the time I thought I was so leet for doing so...hahaha.
Definitely looking forward to this game. I love dark souls but I'm looking for more of a story heavy RPG.

To the people stating that review scores should go. I would add while that is a good idea it would take some time before the current gamer generation would phase over to that score less review scheme.
In the mean time what is one to do...I can see the stance on the cinematic part hindering a game. I can also see how giving it a straight 10 would be nitpicked as well.

Didn't they say PS3 has a 10 year life cycle in mind. Don't plan on them releasing anything until Late 2014. Given how Nin is releasing the Wii 2 or whatever in what this year or the next its a jump start, but seriously how many of us are actually going to jump MS or Sony game platforms for an upgraded Wii.
Given that expect MS to release a new console around 2013 probably the end and with that being said PS4 around the mid to end of 2014 or rather it will be the end...

Since PD took so long to push out GT, but wasn't it built from ground up?
Also wasn't F4 mostly cars taken from F3 and the DL pack of that game and some tracks were taken out?
Perhaps that would explain the development time.
How would you know which online component owns if you haven't played either.
Just gamefly or buy GT. Play it and see what you think. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Honestly If you haven't tried GT5 I'd say Gamefly it and then try. The game is awesome. I'm sure Fozra is as well.
Go with the PS3 since you have it already, and see how you like it. If it doesn't then if you have the funds and are okay with it then do what you need to play Forza 4.
I have both systems but just can't see myself playing F4. GT just does it for me and I would assume it would be the other way with others, etc.
To answer your question.
It's the ego. Think of it like this, why do people get angry when someone talks smack about their favorite team, even though they do not play for the team. It's because they have put themselves with the team and feel they owe some imaginary loyalty to it.
The review is the same way. By the person thinking that batman should be a high scored game they have aligned themselves with it and thus think that the game is a reflection ...

Based on that I'm asking when is it safe to review a game or are we basing the way it should be reviewed based on the genre of the game?

haha i got that beta invite. Its my 3rd one. However upon playing the first beta I already knew I was going to buy the game so lucky me. I'm playing Skyrim as soon as it drops.
To all above. Play skyrim first and after say 6 hours...switch. I loved the beta for star wars and if you haven't played it I think you will too.
