I'd almost agree with you, and to a certain extent I'd say your right. But I'd caveat on that by saying it would probably be minimal at best.

I'd wager the smart thing to do would be to revive the servers around 12 or so PST. I can only state this for the U.S.
That being said...revive around 12 a.m. pst, also make it during say Monday-Wednesday. I'd say that's the least active time as people have to get to work the next day...around thursday people start tapering off and you can forget about Fri-Sun, your just asking for trouble with that.

I never can fathom how people get so out of shape about the online concept. Its like you forget that there is a single player component.
I play MMO's but if they go offline they just do. There isn't a single player aspect to that. I mean I get why people would be bent out of shape. Just don't understand why so much hate given that

What reason would they have to make things even. I would consider it a good thing if they are taking the service offline to fix any potential problems that might cause for example your credit info to be pushed out to others involuntarily.

Yes let's take MAG as an example when comparing to say COD.
MAG is a dedicated online experience. Basically a FPS MMo...or rather MMo lite. If they would add a bit more depth to the base of MAG then I could see a really good FPS MMO in there.
COD has a single player component as well as MP. In this case I would say judge them differently, but you know sadly most people will buy COD for the MP, and never play the SP. But lo...
You know I never understood how a multiplayer aspect of the game could be included in the score. As MP is ever changing...well in the sense that it should. That being said if they do include MP as a source for their score, I'd say they should separate the two.

I'm not sure you want to cite IGN as the definitive source for reviews. I've always found OPM to be a good source of reveiws as they don't seem to care that its a PS3 exclusive.
