The dedicated servers are a big reason I am going with the X1. I also want in game video chat. The X1 is a natural progression to the 360, so the X1 is my obvious choice.
I wouldn't call two of the best looking next-gen titles generic. Especially after the pedestrian attempt that was GOW Judgment.
This guy needs to get with the times. Both next-gen boxes are entertainment systems. Entertainment being included along with gaming has been around for decades, its nothing new. I also wouldn't say having the ability to video chat is a gimmick, its a natural progression. PCs have had that option for some time now. All in all the days of a console just doing gaming went out with the video game crash in the 80s. Sony brought entertainment along with them when they made the ps1, and it thriv...
I would think that the fact that the X1 version will run on dedicated servers would be more of an advantage than screen resolution anyway.
Yeah that's always a concern, because with a launch console we are essentially beta testers. My launch 360 lasted 2.5 years. So by then MS had already enacted the 3 year warranty for the 360. So I got a new replacement for free.
Im not too worried about the X1. Ive seen the testing videos. The X1 is actually built to be on continuously for 10 years.
Im a sucker for being a part of a consoles launch. The thought of new hardware hypes me up to a point that I don't want to miss it.
Every thing you see in the videos is in-engine. There is no pre-rendered cgi. It must look pretty impressive for you to mistake it for cgi. Watch these videos and notice how everything in the gameplay is the same as the cutscenes. That's called "in-engine cutscenes"

Ryse arguably looks better than anything for ps4, so I doubt the ps4 is loads more powerful than the X1. If the X1 can produce visuals on par with Ryse, then I know Ill be satisfied with the X1. I don't care if the ps4 is more powerful on paper.
I just look at how Ryse puts the entire ps4 line up to shame graphically and I can see the ps4 isn't 50% more powerful.
When you take into account the Esram, the X1 has the bandwidth advantage over the GDDR5 of the ps4. But this is N4G, so we are supposed to forget all about that and just say the GDDR5 is more powerful because sony said so.
COD: Ghosts will be better on the X1 because of dedicated servers anyway. PS4 gamers will be using listen servers which is essentially P2P.

I disagree. Ryse is easily the best looking next-gen title we have seen so far.
Ryse is pushing the most polys.Crysis is pushing 2/3 that of Ryse, and Killzone SF is pushing less than half that of Ryse.

No the ps4 will not have dedicated servers for all its MP games. COD Ghosts wont have dedies on ps4, they will have listen servers, which is essentially p2p. Killzone SF will have dedies for stats but not gameplay.
