Slow news day, I guess.
Losing identity... their games have sold well on pc. They still have their logo plastered all over. There is no loss of identity. I'm sorry your butt hurts that people are playing those games on something other than playstation. When a multi platform game does stupid shit its cool for everyone to rail it, but if it's Sony published game... well here watching people make excuses for shitty practices.
Whataboutism aside, yes. That is what I would call it. Quicker people figure out that two companies can both do shitty stuff, the better off the industry will be.
Sony has to test their fan's goodwill every now and then. They do it every few years. Test the water and see what they can get away with.
Maybe they will add a microtransaction. Pay $5 to get some cleavage. Not saying that's good. Commenting on how cynical the industry as become. I remember when the warhammer total war games sold blood as a microtransaction. Dirty.
Read a comment earlier calling it a "special monetization operation." I had to chuckle at that.
Pacific northwest. Bethesda seems to want a verdant apocalypse these days. Oregon is a low priority nuclear target. Plenty of lush forest with a bit of metro area thrown in. Obviously I'm biased.
Helldivers is fantastic. GOTY for me so far. That being said, it will most likely make Sony go harder on the live service trend.
Battle passes AND meta gaming both.
Well, the REmakes did very well and EA had a horror franchise with a rabid fan base. Seems clear. And as others above pointed out, they got to say fuck you to some former employees while making a boatload of money. No way EA would pass up an opportunity to be spiteful.
Gaming is very different than it was in the 90s. I miss the simplicity. Buy a game, own a game. The games launched in their final, content complete form.... for better or worse. But, I also miss being twelve, so I'm thinking nostalgia is working it's magic my on perception of games from that time. Gaming is definitely different, though.
Who gives a shit. Don't like it, don't buy it. All of the manufactured outrage has been old for years now.
I have never seen a video game organically obtain its own "alamo" before this. It's a fun thing for the community. Try to enjoy it.
Remember the creek 🫡
My main paw is a dedicated healer in both DD games. I can confirm they are popular. I earn many rift crystals.
I would be more on board with bethesda if they had a good team of writers. Their environmental story telling is ok, but their main narratives are subpar.
I dislike mid-gen "refreshes" in the first place. Just preys on FOMO.
Bots are fun. Variety in an online game is never bad.
The MTX are stupid. But the press they got completely warped the reality of what is there. I don't think they should be there at all, but if people want to hate on them, then hate on them for the right reason.
I hope it's not. I would much prefer a game that's actually a tightly paced survival horror game like 7 and 2remake. They got it so right twice in a row then went back to the action horror bullshit.
