The game doesn't need "the wider audience." Elden Ring sold incredibly. "The wider audience" is not the audience this game was aimed at anyway. People will fall off for sure, but that doesn't mean anything. I love plenty of games I never finished. I know I am not alone in that. This is the game team cherry wanted to make. They made it. It shows in the quality.
If Indie devs waited to release their games to not get in the way of other games, they may never get released. The indie space is strong and there are constantly good games coming out. Cherry did nothing wrong. Good for them and congratulations on the strong release.
Game are what the developer feels they are worth. Now, they may not actually be worth th cost like most AAA games these days. But, I will never say a game is too cheap. Especially if the game is as good as silksong. Other devs and fuck off if they actually think team cherry made the game too cheap.

Female lead and her visual design did not bother me one bit. I dont need a hot girl in my games to have fun. The BORING loop and open world were my issue. UbiTrash.
Maybe we see what's up on release before we start saying "historic success." I love all of CDPRs games. But CP2077 was going to be a historic success as well. I loved the game on release but it was a disaster launch. I was one of the lucky ones who's pc experience was playable, but it was still a broken mess and CDPR needs to prove themselves again before we all circle perk them over a game that has not released.
I dont know about that. Our home hvac just took a shit and now we have absolutely no way to cool or heat our house. I dont think I will be buying any games, let alone pay full price for anything.

Obsidian is a good studio, but they have been slipping hard. nXile isgreat,bit the last thing they even talked about was wasteland 3. Activision/blizzard is either the devil, or his closest friend.

It's a fine game. Perfect score? Meh. But it's good. Troy baker does a really good Harrison Ford. It runs really well (at least on PC). Worth a look for sure.
Nintendo will not care unless it ACTUALLY HURTS. They hold my entire generation's childhoods hostage so they will probably still sell well enough. They have had failures, don't get me wrong. But I expect them to still be successful.
They didn't trick ALL of us. Too fucking many, for sure. But not all.
