Yep, there wasn't any saving your game in the early years. You couldnt pause your game either. I cant recall which console it was that its biggest selling point was the ability to pause your game. I'm think either the Intellivision or the Odyssey.
It sounds like we might be from the same generation. You are right, we are lucky to have been there at the start of videogames. The evolution of videogames from the start until now is something beyond incredible.
So true, and those little things get better and better as hardware progresses. Seeing the boxing gloves and flesh impact for the first time in Fight Night last gen is a "little thing" I can recall. Also the Euphoria physics engine of GTAIV added little character physics nuances that really added something special to the immersion of the game. Makes me wish I could live to be 1kyrs old just to see what games will be like then. The young generation is truly lucky.
I don't think everybody on N4G is that naïve. Now the middle school crowd that argues over consoles absolutely seem to have no attention span. Bumps in the road aren't something new for any console maker. There have only been a couple reasons that brought a catastrophic end to a major console maker. One was caused by software stagnation due to not investing in technology that progressed console hardware. The other was caused by a lack of sustaining capitol after an "all or n...
Count out a major company in a multi-billion dollar industry? Who does that?
Adding more colors is cool and all, but the write up read like it came straight from MS marketing department.
The Scorpio will do well. I dont think even the middle school crowd that keeps the "my toy is better than yours" argument going will be able to effect its success. Not in the western hemisphere at least. Japan will stick to Japanese consoles, and PC, and I would too if it were my culture. Nothing wrong with playing what you can relate to.
Imo I believe the interest of the hardcore PC crowd is 50%games and 50% hardware. Its not solely gaming judging from friends w...
I think so too. Scalebound never looked like a game that I would want. I'm a western consumer, and while there are a couple eastern developers that I like, I'm not given to traditional eastern style games. So of course the whole brewhaha over Scalebound looks way overblown to me.
It would be interesting to know how many paid shills, from both sides, are commenting on this story. I see all kinds of childish nonsense going on. lol
I cant say that I'm surprised, imo the game looked generic from the start.
Anyone that has paid any attention in the past decade should have learned these console wars are an unending circle jerk. Whos hot today wont be tomorrow, and then a bit later they will be hot again. There is nothing confusing about it. Its been that way for a long time.
The hardware of the past decade has surpassed your examples. I do understand your point though, and it is a valid point. It still doesn't make the way the author attempts to make something factual out of something completely subjective sound any better. I think the author wanted controversial ending, and just plugged gibberish with a controversy feeding tone.
I didn't want to quote the author of this story because I have seen other gaming "journalists" make similar statements about numerous consoles but I'm going to here. He says "And just having a better GPU or more power all around doesn’t necessarily mean better games- it can mean better looking games, but not necessarily better playing games...".
I don't understand the point to this statement, or similar statements. Gameplay is decided by the ...
Umm, I think putting the comment by Microsoft into context would have been more appropriate. This comment wasn't made for fanboys, it was made for investors. Companies like Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Panasonic, Samsung, Nvidia, Ford, Chevy, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, etc, etc, etc, don't make statements of this type with the purpose of boosting the "morale" of some middle schooler with an inferiority complex so he can thump his chest til the next day when another equal but opposite b...
Just a heads up, this article isn't about a Scorpio/Pro parity clause. It is referring to content parity between the XB1 and Scorpio. The article isn't centered on performance(although the dev does confirm the Scorpio will impact performance), it is centered around game content.
I'm too old to care about the "console war" nonsense. This is an interview that praises the advanced jump from the XB1 hence my comments.
?
I look forward to learning more about the Scorpio. The games for it are clearly going to be the best looking out of the 5 consoles that will be on the market. Ive got to start saving though because Ill likely buy a large 4k tv with it.
lol Ok lets clear this up, if you think less than $500-$600 is too expensive then you aren't a high end consumer. I'm sure that PC gamers especially can agree with this statement. Stick with a mainstream console, and please go whine somewhere else.
There with absolutely be games that take advantage of what the Scorpio has under the hood, and thats including exclusives. I dont really see how this isnt blatantly obvious to everyone.
